BAGHDAD, July 29 (Reuters) - Reports that Jordanian militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi has been captured in Iraq are false, a senior U.S. military officer and Iraq's Interior Ministry said on Thursday.

Unsourced reports had been circulating on some Web sites saying Zarqawi had been captured by Iraqi police and that DNA tests were being conducted to confirm his identity

I sure hope the Special Ops guys can get their hands on this piece of sh*t: http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/meast/08/13/iraq.terror/

I also hope when they do they don't tell anyone about it. Just make him wish he was dead every day of his life for the next 10 years.

Kuwaiti newspaper: Zarqawi captured on Syrian - Iraq border
30-07-2004, 14:48
Reports in Kuwait on Friday said a man assumed to be Al Qaeda leader in Iraq, Abu Musab Zarqawi has been captured near the Syrian border.

Zarqawi, whose Tawhid and Jihad group has claimed responsibility for numerous attacks in Iraq, was captured during a joint operation by US forces and Iraqi police, Al Siyasah newspaper, quoting informed Iraqi sources, said Friday.

The US and Iraqi investigators are trying to identify the captive and has sent his DNA sample for testing, the unconfirmed report indicated.

Zarqawi is the most wanted suspect in Iraq and has a US bounty of $25 million on his head. (albawaba.com)

Zarqawi, OBL, and any other Islamo-Zealot styled leader of terrorism will not ever be officially found or captured. It serves our security needs far better to just have them not be anything. No martydom, no hostage scenarios for decades to come, no retrobution from their pals,.....Just silence.

If Zarqawi was ever officially acknowledged to be in US custody, there would be a brief in to the Supreme Court the same day demanding he be granted his US Constitutional rights. As long as we don't officially have him, he can be squeezed for all he knows, then quietly "disappeared"

Notice the timing. The denial of the capture is dated 7/29, but the report of his capture is dated 7/30. There had been SEPARATE reports of his capture early this week, which have since been denied. Is this denial denying the earlier reports or the more recent ones? It reads like it is the former. Also, dated earlier today is this report, quoting Iraqi PM Allawi, claiming that Zarqawi's driver had been captured; www.strategypage.com had also mentioned that, without attribution, earlier today. If we got his driver, Zarqawi's capture could come quickly. That is how we got the guy with the $5M bounty in Pakistan. I think there is still hope we owe $25M more in bounty today!
