SALT LAKE CITY — Police believe that a "rage killing" took place inside Lori and Mark Hacking's apartment hours before Lori was reported missing, FOX News has learned.
Authorities also said they believe 27-year-old Lori Hacking (search) was attacked and killed inside the apartment, sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning.
Investigators said there was some evidence of a struggle, but there is no indication that it was a chaotic situation. Though there were drops of blood found inside the apartment, there was no evidence that any blood had been cleaned up, according to authorities.
No one has been named a suspect in the case, but Lori's husband, Mark Hacking (search), has been labeled a "person of interest."
Hacking, 28, who has been hospitalized since last week in the psychiatric unit where he had worked nights as an orderly, has retained high-profile defense attorney D. Gilbert Athay.
Athay said this week he has spoken to Mark Hacking many times since he was hired Thursday, but refused to characterize the conversations.
Earlier this week, police confirmed that a bloody knife with strands of brown hair on it was among the numerous pieces of evidence they removed from the couple's apartment.

People from her work place reported that she got a call that made her cry one afternoon. Then she went home. Perhaps she confronted her lying husband about the fact that not only was he NOT accepted to medical school, but he hadn't even completed collge. He seems to have been a person who built his wntire life on lies - wonder if his family was fooled or didn't want to know the truth? I don't buy his running around naked junk. Apparently, his family is all about "appearance" and how they look to others. Why would Hacking have to lie about Medical School and graduating college if his family was all accepting?

at my complex if I am home anytime between 9am and 4pm during the week, it's like a ghost town. I could practically walk around nekkid outside and no one would see me, (of course, I would never do that!) =)

I actually admire these families. Apparently they've made a pact that even if he killed her, the girl's parents won't blame the boy's parents and make it all messy like the Rocha's did. (I'm not blaming Laci's parents for anything). I think that's very big of them.
The brother said they had everything in a U-Haul trailer but didn't have a place to store it yet.
Re post #18 - I just heard on Fox news a few minutes ago that the police released the apt. to the manager. If the police hadn't done that the furniture wouldn't have been removed.
A satanic cult is propbably responsible and is trying to frame this poor soul. They were seen in the area driving a white van.
