Ron Reagan Jr. is a tool, but I support stem-cell research. And if you had someone in your family who was paryalized or suffering from altzheimers (Or fear suffering from it yourself one day), you might too.

And no...They don't need to be taken from second trimester babies...They can be taken from newly formed embryos. And personally, I don't have a problem with that.

Is it possible to get good stem cells from people with low IQ's? I don't have a problem with that either. Save us a lot of Social Security funds as well.

What is the fundamental difference between second trimester babies and newly concieved babies? or between newly conceived babies and babies immediately after birth?

I can't come up with one difference other than time. How can you treat them differently if they are the same?

You don't have a problem with the killing of innocent human beings because some other more powerful human beings covet their victims' body parts?

Cordially,

Human embryos. Human fetuses. Human babies. Human toddlers. Human children.
Human adolescents. Human adults. Human geriatrics.

Notice any sort of continuity there?

That's right, MB, they can be taken from adults, who don't have to be killed first.

I listened very carefully to Ron Reagan's speech and, though I don't completely understand the medical nuances, I am under the impression that human embryos aren't involved. He made it very clear that what was used were only small groups of cells that would never be capable of becoming a human being. I think that he was attempting to reach a national audience, and that's the reason that he agreed to this venue. I sympathize with your losses. I sympathize with the Reagans, as well, and I agree that they shouldn't be judged in their passionate efforts to find a cure for the disease that claimed their beloved husband and father.
