Republicans Try to Ridicule Kerry with NASA Photo

Reuters Tuesday, July 27, 2004; 3:10 PM

By Patricia Wilson

NORFOLK, Va. (Reuters) - Republicans distributed a photo of Democratic candidate John Kerry wearing a head-to-toe protective suit on Tuesday in comparison to a famously unflattering photograph of Michael Dukakis in a tank that helped sink his presidential bid in 1988.

Late-night comedians made fun of the picture and President Bush's re-election campaign e-mailed it under the caption "Earth to Kerry." "Bubble Boy," read the headline on the front page of the Boston Herald, a newspaper that has not been a supporter of Kerry.

The photograph was taken on Monday at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida, when Kerry along with astronauts-turned-U.S. senators John Glenn of Ohio and Bill Nelson of Florida were required by NASA to wear the precautionary suits to tour the "Discovery" shuttle due to launch in March.

Bush Admin has been paying a lot of attention to NASA and throughout the past 4 years. Gradually building NASA up to where NASA can be used in a number of ways -- including national defense.

"Where's that picture of the crying baby? It's always someone else's fault when this loser messes up. If he can't deal with NASA, how in the hell will he deal with the murdering Muslims?"

Excellent point!

"Republicans Try to Ridicule Kerry with NASA Photo"

I wonder how much it would cost, I mean if the Demorats actually had to pay for it, to get the entire MSM to carry the water for a presidential candidate?

NORFOLK, Va. (Reuters) - Republicans distributed a photo of Democratic candidate John Kerry wearing a head-to-toe protective suit on Tuesday ...actually, according to Fox News tonight, the pictures were posted on the NASA web site, supposedly after they had been reviewed by Kerry and his staff - in a taped interview, Mary Beth Cahill, Kerry's campaign manager, strongly implied to Brit Hume that the pictures were underhandedly "leaked" somehow; Hume later produced a message from NASA saying that a pool photographer had taken them, they were shown to the Kerry group and then posted to the public....

Sounds as though Kerry looked at them and thought they were okay, and only now that they're being ridiculed are Dims coming up with the story that they were put out by republicans or leaked - as usual, 'rats show poor judgment and screw up, and somebody else gets blamed......

The "try" took about 11 seconds. It was followed by staggering success. NOW we're just showin' off.
