That is pure BS. The thing was staged as a photo-op. Otherwise, Kerry wouldn't have bothered.
The Kerry campaign/Cahill are parsing 'no media photographers'. While that may be true, NASA gave the Kerry campaign a look-see at the photos before NASA posted them on their website.
The Kerry campaign are whining because it is a photo-op-gone-bad and they didn't stop it before the pix got released.

Yes --- it would even be worse if he was smiling like that thinking there was no camera right in front of him --- that would be ever more goofy.
