Christopher Cox was just on with John and Ken for a few moments in response to the border sweeps issue. He stated that he has not refused to come on, although J&K said his press spokesman Bailey stated this to their producer. ("Not any day, not at any time."
In fact, Cox seemed anxious to be on the show for an entire hour so he settled for tomorrow, July 28th at 4:00 p.m. Cox also stated that he has discussed the cessation of the border sweeps with Asa Hutchinson and has asked him to reinitiate them. Additionally, he claims that the entire California Republican delegation has signed a letter to Hutchinson asking him to do so, which he will discuss at length with J&K tomorrow on the show.
BTW, Dana Rohrabacher will be on the show today as the next candidate to play the "Political Human Sacrifice" game.
It's a good thing. :-)
It's still the squeaky wheel that gets the grease.
Chris Cox will be on TODAY, July 27th, at 4:00 p.m. Dana Rohrabacher on at 5:00 p.m. Sorry for the screwup, apparently I was listening to yesterday's tape of the Cox phone call.
Again, Cox on TODAY.
Thanks! I'll be sure to tune in. All of these pandering politicians need to be put in the pressure cooker. Thanks to John and Ken for helping out.
Yeah, this ought to be good.
I'm still holding out for Dreier to "win".
Ping...thought you might be interested in this one.
Cox agreed that persons not entering normal ports of entry would not be subjected to this process. I thought I heard him say "Obviously, that's a problem."
In response to the Annie Jacobson story ("Terror in the Skies") Cox stated, "The system flunked. It's not perfect."
Its a little experiment called DEMOCRACY--It only works if people take part in the system. If you don't, who will? Ever wonder why the tyrants of the world always arrest the newspaper/radio people first? These two are doing the heavy lifting for the majority! God Bless em both!
Vote Bush--Vote Freedom
John: "Mexico has exported 10% of it's poorest population to California. We're not an ATM machine for Mexico's poor. You (Cox) and the rest of you in congress are supposed to stop this."
Cox: "I passed a law - a silver bullet - to put state and local law enforcement to work to enforce illegal immigation."
J&K: "And what if they refuse to do it? They won't do it due to Special Order 40. What do you do then? Chief of Police Bratton has said he won't do it."
Cox: "Any state or local law enforcement CAN partner with the federal government on law enforcement."
I've been listening to Cox for about twenty minuts and boy if he isn't the dancing party boy.
He stated that the inland sweeps have been reinstated. John and Ken said, that's true, only they've limited them to isolated canyons, not on the street like they did them for several days aprehending 450 illegals.
They asked him why no business prosecutions were being executed and he hemmed and hawed for a bit. Then he stated that 320 prosecutions had taken place last year (time from somewhat uncertain from me), with $5 million in fines. They asked how many employers went to jail. He said zero. They found out that 25% of those prosecutions took place in California.
I'm not going to go into all the issues, because I can't remember all the topics right now. My basic impression was that Cox was simply dancing, spining, trying to appeaze the show hosts without really doing anything tangible.
There wasn't one single productive thing revealed. He agreed on issue after issue that they were a problem, but when asked what was being done about it, he just passed wind.
I'm sorry, but California has been jetessoned into the nether zone. This Republic party couldn't give a fig less about our concerns regarding illegal immigration.
With laws on the books, they simply refuse to enforce.
What's most revolting about these interviews is that people like Cox think we know nothing about this issue. Again and again he offered up what he said were helpful things that were taking place, but we knew better.
For instance, he said that one agency is tasked with inland enforcement, so the border folks don't need to. Then John and Ken reminded him that the inland agency is not taking action on inland enforcement becuase it's such a low priority.
This is the way it goes. These guys flat out lie about what's going on and then congratulate themselves that they have placated to masses. Cox is in for a big surprize. People are NOT buying it anymore.
Yeah, and if Bratton decided not to recognize federal civil rights guidelines, I wonder how long he'd be allowed to opt out.
This is just infuriating.
America is doomed because too few have the balls to do the right thing for fear of losing power. And only the elites get 'to play' politics these days. Rich idiots on power trips.
Right now they're in a pretty intense conversation with Dana Rohrabacher over the money reimbursement for the $5 billion we spend on illegals. J&K are insisting the federal government come through, Rohrabacher is totally against this idea.
I like Dana and thought there'd be little to listen for from him. Now you tell me this. What a schmuck! We're supposed to foot the bill because Washington can't get off it's arse and stop the invasion as per the constitution? Like I all too frequently say, you simply cannot trust a one of the boobs in D.C.
If it weren't such a serious subject, it would be hilarious to watch.
He brings up the massive influx of illegal aliens from other countries, especially through airports. John and Ken want to know why their visas are not thoroughly checked every single day. Rohrabacher says "I criticize this administration on this issue a lot, but everytime I do I remember that it would be a hundred times worse..." (cut off conversation, he was getting ready to say under a Democrat administration).
That was a great post and I agree with you 100%. You articulated it so well. Frankly, nothing else makes any sense. From what I've read, at least 80% of the country is down on illegal immigration, especially with the security implications.
