Roll Call: Coburn Poised to Win GOP Primary From RollCall.com (subscription req.):
Sources said [Kirk] Humphreys support declined in recent weeks after he was targeted by [Bob] Anthonys ads, which portrayed the former mayor as a crooked politician who engaged in shady land deals while in office. The ads especially hurt Humphreys in his Oklahoma City base.
At the same time, [Tom] Coburn saw his support grow after he hit television airwaves for the first time. The Club for Growth, which is supporting Coburn, also has aired positive ads on his behalf and briefly went after Humphreys.
In an attempt to cut Coburns growing lead, Humphreys launched negative ads targeting the former lawmakers votes against military spending. But the move appeared to backfire, and Coburn responded with an ad scolding Humphreys for breaking a campaign pledge to stay positive.
Humphreys pulled the ad from rotation late last week, after retiring Sen. Don Nickles publicly asked him to stop airing the negative spot. Nickles and Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) are both publicly supporting Humphreys.

Best of luck to you guys.
Polls close in Oklahoma at 7pm local time....
Everything I am hearing shows Coburn winning without a run-off. Humphreys going negative IMHO doomed him for which I am grateful.
How much of a bonehead are you when the incumbent senator has to slap you on the wrist and tell you to behave?
This sets a good precedent-- ex/retiring senator endorses primary candidate who goes on to suck in the primary election. May Boring Bill in Florida be next.
Ping!!
I read somewhere the other day in one of the Oklahoma papers that Inhoff was backing Coburn.
Istook is backing Coburn, but Inhofe is the prime mover behind the Humphreys candidacy. Inhoff, haven't heard of him ;)
