What if they simply had a pocket recorder and transcribed the sermon later? That isn't disruptive to the service.
Restaurants invite everyone, but they invite everyone to come in and eat, not to take a table, order a tapwater and follow the maitre'd around, taking notes everytime he opens his mouth.
Funny, but food reviewers order, eat, take notes and then critique the restaurant.
And management wants them there since management is courting their publicity.
This cuts both ways, of course. Liberals had a fit when the Patriot Act allowed the FBI to monitor religious services, particularly in mosques which are sometimes havens for radical elements. Now liberals are infiltrating conservative churches to monitor THEM.
Hey, the Red Chinese police do this all the time.
Of course, this is America.
Funny, but food reviewers order, eat, take notes and then critique the restaurant."
I think, dirtboy, that you have just revealed something about yourself.
And that would be that you see no difference between going to a restaurant and going to worship God.
This ploy appears to be backfiring as the great unwashed in the area seem to find the prospect of groups sending monitors to sit beside people in church to monitor the supposed illegal activity so that they can report it as pretty un-American.
Even non-church goers have a distinct dislike for the idea that in a free country there would be groups sending people out to spy on the activity of their neighbors at church or elsewhere, for that matter, not at all acceptable. What Mainstream and other like minded groups really object to is what they refer to as "hate crimes", (i.e. preaching from the Bible about marriage being between Adam and Eve not Adam & Steve as currently is going on in Canada) under the guise of stopping political activity taking place.
If any true member of ACLU or other group that attempts to muzzle churches for being involved in politics were serious about their claim, they would have shut down most black churches who regularly host Democrat candidates and even use their churches to raise money, in return getting "walking around money" from the Democrat party.
