Do you know what was terrific yesterday. My cable went out before I went home for work and I didn't have to deal with any of the convention coverage. I was sooo happy!

Nobody is watching. Question is, is that good or bad for our side.

My guys, Independents all, ran all three extended versions of LOTR yesterday. They couldn't handle the constant lovefest on every single alphabet and cable channel.

I think they are running the SciFi Dune series today.

IMHO, good.

The national conventions are infomercials.

It was good last night, but we WANT people to see as much of JFK Lite as possible. So I hope lots of people tune in later this week to see Lurch.

Normally, I watch Fox. Didn't even bother to do that last night because I knew the convention was going to be on. I don't need a speech by Bill Clinton to tell me how great he was. I lived thru it, and know how great he was--not very.

Ha. That's a funny but fair question. I tuned in when Jimmah Carter was taking the stage. I listened to about a minute of his speech. Enough time to work on my Jimmah Carter impression (always was a Rich Little fan, ever since I was a kid!)

But after about two minutes, I had the good sense to shut the TV off. My wife tuned in to that wife swapping "reality" show on Fox. What the hell is it about women and "reality" shows? The shadow knows...

Hard to say what will happen this November. The dems have succeeded in raising doubts about GWB Admin's credibility. But doubts will linger about Kerry's seriousness versus his opportunism, and some folks might swallow real hard and vote for the guy most likely to kill bad guys first, ask questions later. That's what I am gonna do, anyway.

The Convention is over. Clinton already spoke.

I will be surprised if the delegates last through the end of the week.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

According to the CBS schedule on cbs.com, they don't plan to show any of it in Prime Time tonight either. (I had to check out if Amazing Race would be on.)

Tried to watch parts on cable. Clicked through the channels and saw Michael Moore being interviewed by Reagan Jr. Life sized cardboard cutouts of Bush and Cheney in the background.

Heard someone on CNN remind us that the "shove it" comment was mild compared to the foul language Cheney used.

The last few innings of the Cards/Reds game were good.

I was wondering what the ratings would be. Can always count on Drudge to get them out first.

I don't think you can draw any conclusions from that. It'll be the same next month in NYC. The nominations Re decided long before the conventions, so there's no drama there. As far as entertainment goes, the average cable system has a couple hundred channels, most of which are much more appealing to the average viewer than the goings on in Boston and New York. Nobody watches these things but political junkies and the hard core bases of the respective parties.

I predict that this will be the last year for the Conventions on TV. Cost billions for the city they hold it in, plus not many watch it. Complete waste of time in this day and age.

It will be interesting to see what share they get when Kerry speaks, and what the share is when Bush speaks.

I think the fact that no one cares means that there is no motivation to "change horses midstream."
