Bill Clinton: When we needed a doofus to send to the Convention and to lose in November, paving the way for Hilly, John Kerry said, "Send me. See, I'm a perfect doofus. I learned stupid photo-op tricks from the best--Michael Dukakis."
Still, Dukakis in the tank was more damaging. He was being criticized for being anti-military and it was a blatant attempt at a photo op to repair the damage and it backfired miserably. Kerry originally wasn't trying to do anything specific. But the aide who compared it to Bush in the flightsuit should be fired yesterday.
