WHY: The current Assemblyman, Rudy Bermudez has continually IGNORED the wishes of the communities he is supposed to serve.Other reasons to want to "TERMINATE RUDY" are:
Instead of doing what is just and right for the community, he follows only the bidding of those who make major financial contributions to him.
Saturdays demonstration is primarily over the issue of who should decide what the city of Artesia should be called:
Should it be "Artesia" as desired by the city council and the majority of the residents, or should it be called "Little India" as Rudys financial backers desire. This is the FIRST of several demonstrations over the summer whose purpose is to alert the media and the political bosses in Sacramento that the people of this district are FED UP with Rudy, and are DEMANDING a change in the California State Assembly. Please bring signs that say:"TERMINATE RUDY"
or
"WE LOVE ARTESIA RUDY LOVES $$$$"
or
"RUDY BERMUDEZ is a Girlie Man!"
- he has voted AGAINST businesses and jobs more than 80% of the time, and
- he has voted AGAINST children and families more than 90% of the time
over the past year in the Assembly(statistics compiled by the California Chamber of Commerce and the Campaign for California Families).
Who's his GOP opponent? That would be THIS guy, from www.brantukforassembly.org:
About John
John Walter Brantuk, Sr. was born September 11, 1950 in Montebello, California. He grew up in Whittier in the American family tradition. His father worked at a local truck body building company while his mother tended daily to the needs of John and his younger brother David and the family home. Upon graduation from high school, John was accepted to the University of California, Los Angeles.
After college, John enlisted in the military and gave six years service to our nation. Trained as a Tank Commander in an Armored Cavalry troop, John continued to take on greater and greater responsibilities, attending Leadership schools and working his way up to Sergeant, Squadron Communications Section Leader, and finally Acting Squadron Commo Officer. John received an honorable discharge in 1976. It was a very full experience.
