THE STAR OF THE SHOW [Kate O'Beirne] The look of rapture on the faces of women delegates when they gaze upon the Hillary is remarkable. They can have her in just four short years if only that meanie John Kerry would knock it off.
Report from the workplace: Jonah was extremely happy when the Dunkin' Donuts arrived. Of course, there can be no dunkin' with his liquid problem. And, an earnest young volunteer at the door: "Would you like a copy of Stephanie Tubbs Jones' speech?" Answer: "Does it come with an explanation of who the heck she is?" NR's oasis has already become a haven where conservatives in the media can slip in to "avoid colleagues' cheering during Gore's speech." We're working on a secret handshake. Posted at 10:40 PM

The convention attendees from The National Review are facing their situation with as stiff an upper lip as possible, but Jonah Golberg's response to the Tubb-Jones speech is classic. (maybe it's just me)
they're having a lot of fun over on NRO, anyway.

yeah, when Goldberg and Lowry aren't shamelessly plugging their next tv gigs. I'd rather not, thanks. O'Beirne is good, though.

yeah, when Goldberg and Lowry aren't shamelessly plugging their next tv gigs. yeah, true. and annoying. they don't take up that much room, though, and these guys get the odd nugget of information that we won't find out any other way . . . .
their "kerry spot" is pretty effective, too.

Is it any surprise that Carter's speech was "nasty" and "poisonous"? That little man is one of the nastiest and most poisonous people in a nasty and poisonous party.
To: Malesherbes
he was persona non grata in his own party for 20 years after
reagan beat him; and now he's the designated slimer? this is
just bizarre. jimmah must be all twisted up about zell miller,
fellow dem and georgian, putting his thing down on kerry
and the dem party.

The worst thing about Carter is the game everyone plays. He's a saint, the best ex-prez ever, wonderful man with a Peace Prize. I don't argue with relatives about him any more but it sure gets tiresome to hear it all over and over. Doesn't anyone out there think for themselves about these people and remember he FAILED in so many ways, that he sabotages every current Pres. including the Dems, that he says such anti-American things. Now he's more an icon than ever to them. Amazing.

Proud to have her on the Board of the Ave Maria School of Law.
To: Notwithstanding
You should be; she's a real class act.

Doesn't anyone post a whole article here anymore? Cripe, this forum's archives are going to be a bundle of smipets of no real value at all if this keeps up.
Is National Review a snipet only sight now too?

I appologize, I just clicked in expecting to see a Kate O'bierne article and got nothing. Perhaps I'm in the minority, but I don't really want to read a couple of lines from a bunch of different people. I didn't realize I was linking into a blog "short notes" page.
Take care.

no, I think the index on the anchored URL (#036567) isn't
being transmitted to NRO properly. the full blog entry is
at the top of this post, though. the URL is probably taking
you to the top of the blog, which was a couple of hours ago.

It's kindof like getting your mouth watered up for steak and finding it's a pasta house. At another time I might enjoy nosing around over there. Thanks.
