In some socialist states, a shotgun has to be used to hunt deer because of the close proximity of houses. Illinois for instance.

uh....how many people actually hunt deer with a 12-guage???????????Dunno about Mass, but in NJ, it is the law...no rifles. We the People cannot be trusted with a rifle...we might resist. The crawling around on his belly is still pretty stupid though.

Yup, the law in Massachusetts says deer can only be hunted in the "regular season" with shotguns loaded with slugs. They do have an archery and black powder seasons.

I've never hunted deer in my life (nothing against it - mind you), but I always thought you hunted for deer with a rifle.
Shotguns are for the birds, aren't they? (pun fully intended).

Yes, a lot of folks use a 12 gauge, particularly with "buck"shot; it's actually more common in some places than a rifle, particularly if you have dogs running the deer.
The double-barrel, however, is less common, and single-shots are even less. Most folks use either a pump gun or a semiauto. That said, I have been hunting with folks who took a nice buck with a N.E.F. single-shot.

Uhhhhhhhh, using a 12 guage to hunt deer is illegal in NM.

I for one hunt with a 12ga shotgun with deer slugs. However, I definitely do NOT crawl around on my stomach while hunting them. More likely to be sitting up in a tree stand sitting on my butt.
If Kerry comes here to deer hunt, he won't crawl far. Some of the guys around here shoot at anything that moves.
Kerry's athletic prowess leaves a lot to be desired. Yesterday's 50 ft pitch low and far outside. LMAO I'm 65 yrs old and can still throw a pitch from the mound in excess of 60 miles and hour. Kerry is such a wuss.

uh....how many people actually hunt deer with a 12-guage??????????? In MA the only things you can have in the woods are shotguns and .22s. It's the law.
But I'm willing to bet that Kerry never went deer hunting in MA or any other state.

I've killed at least 10 deer with a 12-gauge. In the deep south, most deer are killed with shotguns and buckshot. (I have to add, I've never shot one while crawling along on my belly.....)

Sad thing is, he couldn't find one real deer hunter to ask.
It's not like they sprang this "you gotta act the hunter" thing on him...this is standard running-for-President stuff -- and he's been gunning for the position since he was potty-trained.
