Kerry just flubbed the opening pitch at the Yanks-Sox game
ESPN | 7/25/04 | me

Kerry just 'threw' out the opening pitch at the Boston-Yankees game. Just saw Kerry pitch a really weak opening pitch, well short of the plate, bouncing under the catcher. What a poser!

...The Times already listed him on Friday as going to the game. I'm telling you, the whole last-minute diversion thing was done for dramatic effect. ...

Was John Glenn with Kerry at the ballgame?

Glenn was supposed to arrive in FL with Kerry at 6:45pm Sunday. This morning's paper reported that both Kerry and Glenn arrived at around 4:00am this morning.

I'm wondering if Kerry made Glenn wait all this time also.

Tues. night will have Convention
events happening. W would not
step on that to upstage Kerry,
I don't believe. Security would
be a horrible nightmare, & Dems
would pack the stands to BOO.

IMO...

Because so few media outlets are reporting the the crowd booing Kerry, the liberals counterculture is already saying it's a myth and never happened.

Lets be fair, I replayed in on tivo several times. The ball hit the ground beyond the plate be before it reached the catcher's mit.

Kerry was less than the normal 60FT 6 inches from home plate--far less. He still couldn't get it to the catcher who was standing behind the plate in the normal position. It was a pathetic throw from a guy who has posed regularly over the last few months as a skier, windsurfer, hockey player, bicyclist, football player, etc.

Lighten up. It is not a matter of being fair. What's wrong with putting the other candidate up to ridicule when he comes into Fenway Park as a native son, is booed and doesn't perform? We did the same with Dukakais in the tank.

Yet Kerry didn't have time for a terror briefing.

DOUSED Kerry with new wife Julia at thier wedding. Friends had just tossed him into a pond

Actually his friends had just doused him in gasoline, and he is running for his life.

No matter what any of them said.
Some ordinary peons didn't know.
That's ALL.

I'm just reading my Yankee email fan list, and the fans are not happy over the game's coverage. Even nonpolitical people are puking over ESPN's turning a big game into a Kerry infomercial.

Your contributions to this thread have been very valuable. Thanks, I will be cheering for the Yankees this year (for the first time in my life!), in order for the karma to work for W.

And, in case you hadn't seen this:
Giambi being tested for fatal condition
Monday, July 26, 2004
BY DAN GRAZIANO
Star-Ledger Staff

BOSTON -- Jason Giambi is being tested for a potentially fatal condition sometimes caused by intestinal parasites, according to his personal trainer, and he could miss the remainder of the season while he tries to recover.

"He told me, 'I don't care about even hitting .220. I just want to feel better,'" Giambi's trainer, Bob Alejo, said. "He's exhausted, and it's not getting any better."

Alejo said Giambi, who has missed four of the Yankees' past five games, is being tested for a parasite called entamoeba histolytica, which can cause a potentially fatal condition called amebiasis. The parasite is transmitted in a variety of ways, including through water and food, and it can embed in the intestinal lining, making it undetectable except by very specific tests.

The team is sending Giambi back to New York tomorrow to see another infectious disease specialist. Giambi will undergo specific tests for E. Histolytica. After those tests are in, the Yankees will decide whether to put him on the disabled list.

Depending upon the amount of rest the doctors prescribe, he might need the rest of the year to recover.

That's pretty awful.

And when Bush pitched shortly after 9/11, it was considered a bold move (from a personal safety perspective) for him to be out in the middle of the stadium in NYC.

Oh now come on, let's not underestimate the stupidity of the Democrats. Remember how Hillary Clinton of Chicago became a "lifelong Yankees fan" right before her Senate run?
