Lance owns France!!...
Shaking Head, ciao Jacques....L~
I agree. Any blame should be shared equally.
Bump
I think you need to recheck when Lance and his wife met, courted, and married. I believe they WERE married when his cancer was diagnosed. They had some of his sperm frozen for their future attempts at having kids. I'm pretty sure they were married with no kids when the cancer was diagnosed. Or they were engaged and dplanning a wedding. I will bet a Dove ice cream bar that he knew her very well BEFORE the cancer.
Why a Dove Bar? It's been over 96 every day for over 10 days. I am craving ice cream.
I'm afraid you're gonna have to wait for that Dove Bar.
From Lance's autobio:
"I finished chemotherapy on Dec 13, 1996, and I met Kristin Richard a month later, at a press conference to announce the launching of my cancer foundation and the Ride for the Roses."
He froze the sperm for future use, not knowing when he would want it.
Sorry to do it to you, it's hard not to have that Dove Bar...I know. For me, I go for the dark chocolate on vanilla. How about you?
I'd suggest having the Dove bar anyway, though...
In the book, he describes himself, as at one point in his life, the "Fed Ex" Man, meaning, when he had to have it (women) overnight. But in other places, he seems to act rather moral, how repulsive he finds that the sperm bank has porno magazines to stimulate oneself and you will find that in the book. I guess, he is a young man, has some errors, some positives; like so many of us, is moreso up to scrutiny.
I thought, what would be Lance's downfall, was last year, Tour win number 5, that what would be different about that Tour and why he might fail was going to be because he left his wife. His former spouse, also, travelled around with him everywhere even moving to Europe.
Absolutely phenomenol; I'll leave speculation to others and keep my other thoughts to myself.
So, how do you feel about Ronald Reagan, who divorced a wife with 2 adopted children?
Poor GK!! Many, many more folks will read your comments, ignore the rest of the thread and truly believe that they will be the FIRST! to notify you of your mistake. It's futile and funny to try and resist the rolling wave of do-gooders/non-readers that will ping your poor soul. But, you gotta take it in stride or it'll turn into an Arthur McGowan thread.
(I took a drubbing last week for an uninformed and inadvertent--I swear--reference to a body never being found. Well, said body got found, and found and found and found and found and....)
Good luck!
This guy has sacrificed everything---and unlike Reagan, whose second marriage proved extremely loving, long-lasting and one to be envied, Armstrong seeme completely incapable of any relationship except with his bicycle.
I don't know who insisted on divorce in Reagan/Wyman. Nor do I know who insisted on divorce in the Armstrong case. I seem to recall that one of the reasons for the Wyman divorce was Ronald Reagan's increasing interest in politics. (sort of like "furthering his career")

I have no idea of what Armstrong has sacrificed. We do know that Lance Armstong declined an opportunity to go to the Olympic Games in Athens because he wanted to spend time with his children.
I am unable to predict with certainty what Armstrong's second marriage will be like, if he has one.
All this is not meant to tar President Reagan, whom I admire and love. It is meant to point out that the TDF threads are innundated with people who have strong personal opinions on Lance Armstrong's family life, none of whom have any personal insight.
Now, since you bring up Reagan, I've talked to people who knew him personally, and they said that his marriage was tremendously strong, but that the love between Ronnie and Nancy was almost EXCLUSIVE of the kids, hence some of the alienation. But in his case, while maybe I wouldn't have wanted Reagan as a dad, I sure (if I were a female) would have wanted him for a husband.
Not all people can balance work and marriage/family. But some people like Armstrong SEEM to go out of their way to put personal achievement above family.
