Kill scientists, says animal rights chief

A top adviser to Britain's two most powerful animal rights protest groups caused outrage last night by claiming that the assassination of scientists working in biomedical research would save millions of animals' lives. To the fury of groups working with animals, Jerry Vlasak, a trauma surgeon and prominent figure in the anti-vivisection movement, told The Observer: 'I think violence is part of the struggle against oppression. If something bad happens to these people [animal researchers], it will discourage others. It is inevitable that violence will be used in the struggle and that it will be effective.'

Vlasak, who likens animal experimentation to the Nazis' treatment of the Jews, said he stood by his claim that: 'I don't think you'd have to kill too many [researchers]. I think for five lives, 10 lives, 15 human lives, we could save a million, 2 million, 10 million non-human lives.

I got an idea -- these animal rights activists/envirowackos are taking up too much of the earth's precious resources and polluting the air -- let's feed them to lions and tigers and other big cats -- those carnivores need food and we save some really useful creatures like deer for hunting by humans. Waddyasay?

There was a news story some time back about a woman in Canada who campaigned for mountian lions. While out cross country skiing, she was killed and partially eaten by one. ;-)

But I think we have to get over the 'wacko' label and start taking these people seriously. This is a new religion, every bit a fervent as radical islam. They worship nature and hate the industrial revolution. Right now they vandalize cars and burn down big houses. It's only a matter of time before they start "executing" people for "crimes against the Environment". If you want to learn more about this, just google "deep ecology".

So, kill animal researchers = okay.

Kill abortionists = NOT okay?

"This is a new religion, every bit a fervent as radical islam."

Exactly. What's next? Do the ecowackos start kidnapping scientists and threaten to saw their heads off if we don't start closing research labs?

Put him out on the African plain with nothing but his underwear. Lions get hungry for "activists" that want to save them.

We should round all these people up and drop them in the "rainforest"....and see how long it takes them to figure out what a jungle it really is.

Here's a quote from Vlasak, “I think that violence and nonviolence are not moral principles, they’re tactics.”

They left Phase 1 long ago; vandalism of labs and release of lab animals has been going on for years. Researchers who work with animals and researchers who work with genetically modified organisms have to operate under tight security. Anyone who interferes with medical research already has blood on their hands.

The only question I have is, how are they defining vivisection? Using animals for experiments is one thing, desecting (sp... it's early) them while alive is another.

I'm waiting for the anti-life group that promotes the destruction of all life on earth to restore it to a more natural state. This includes humans, animals, plants, insects, bacteria, ...

Hmm. Why isn't the New York Times in a churning froth over Bush allowing eco-terrorism to flourish while pre-occupied with stealing Iraqi oil?

Do it in public. It would be a great show. Only trouble is some of the puddy tats might get tummy aches from the putrid food.

Why do I have a funny feeling Jerry Vlasak is against the death penalty?

Conversely, assassination of animal rights activist could save millions of human lives.... what to do.. what to do

I'm certain he is against a death penalty imposed by a government he opposses. The significant difference is that when Jerry targets someone for death, it's for the greater good and is therefore fully justified.
