I am a Penn State alumn and I LOVE Joe Pa.
I didn't know he was a Republican until Bush 41 came to our campus in 92. It just cemented the adoration and respect I have for Paterno.
He's a class act in everything he does. Even his politics.
I have pictures from that very day (I was an Asst. Prof. of Mil. Sci. at PSU at that time). Have pictures of 41, Joe Pa and the Lion, each at the podium with the presidential seal. I will look for them tomorrow and post them on this thread.
Another Penn Stater here who loves Joe. All the more with the fact that over the past 15 years or so he has become more publicly active for the GOP (remember he spoke at one of the conventions.) And of course his son won the GOP Congressional primary for that district last spring. For the glory!!!
Me too! I'd love to see Joe Paterno replace Graham Spanier as PSU president if he ever retires as coach.
Penn State deserves a strong, decent, hardnose conservative as president. The student body is overwhelmingly conservative, but we are presently subjected to a weak liberal administration whose primary emphasis is not on education, but on diversity and multiculturalism.
