Star Wars Episode III Title Released: Revenge of the Sith

Special Announcement: Episode III Title July 24, 2004

Starwars.com is pleased to announce that Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith is the full title of the next Star Wars film, scheduled for release on May 19, 2005.

The Sith are masters of the dark side of the Force and the sworn enemies of the Jedi. They were all but exterminated by the Jedi a thousand years ago, but the evil order continued in secrecy. They operated quietly, behind the scenes, acting in pairs - a Master and an Apprentice - patiently biding their time before they could take over the galaxy. In Episode III, they'll finally exact their revenge on the Jedi.

The title was publicly revealed today in a special presentation to a packed audience of Star Wars fans at Comic-Con International in San Diego, California. "For some time now, the naming of a new Star Wars movie has taken on some special meaning among core fans, who love to take part in guessing games before a title is announced, and then engage in debate once it is," said Steve Sansweet, Director of Content Management and Head of Fan Relations for Lucasfilm. "Let the debates begin."

LOL.

I'm a lover, not a fighter. (The women fight to get away when I'm in the mood for love).

Wasn't there a Jabba the Hut or something in one of those movies? I was thinking Mikie Moore should be asked to play the role.

What a DOPEY title. Everyone will move the "h" in "Sith" into the second slot. Then it will be like sitting in a Porta-Pottie when an earthquake hits: Revenge of the S*it.

Could this be the thread that rivals the Hobbit Hole?

Keep talkin', we'll see...

I always gave the Jabba the Hut distinction to Jerry Nadler.

IIRC, the sith movie, Return of the Jedi, was originally titled, Revenge of the Jedi. Sith that didn't go over well, it was titled, Return of the Jedi.

Fitting, I must say. (and I hunted for years when I had $$$ to try and find one of the original posters, sith Revenge of the Jedi. I never did.....)

She is gorgeous and I could care less how good of an actor she is. I just want to look at her. That being said, she is not that good an actor. I thought Hayden was not too good either, he was so over emotional in some scenes that in the end I could not find him believable.

I thought they were both good enough, if not really fine actors.

The one thing which bugged me was that little pigtail he wore. I found myself subconsciously wanting to grab a pair of scissors.

Oh yes she really is pretty.

One more thing I couldn't stand about the whole series is Yoda. I mean it couldn't be any more obvious that they were trying to make him just as much the opposite of the traditional hero type as possible. Well they succeeded so well that he looked ridiculous to me. I would have liked an ordinary or even slightly ugly person but that green elf was a bit much.

Yoda I like, he is not a traditional action type hero but more a wise man. And for this, he is perfect. I loved the fighting scene with Yoda in AOTC. I wish they made more use of Terrance Stamp in the first movie. He is a fine actor and the political side of me wants to see his character more developed. I even have a Chancellor Valorum action figure. Oh I hate Jar Jar, really loathe him a lot.

"Han Solo? Yeah, if he happens to have a Time Warp accident. Harrison Ford is OLD now...."

Laz...dude...you're not getting it. It's so obvious. The episode that is being made now predates the "first" Star Wars that came out in 1977. That's why Anakin (Darth Vader, Luke's father) appears as a little kid and Obi Wan (Alec Guiness, God rest his soul) is a young man in the most recent episodes.

Harrison Ford could probably be Han Solo's dad in the time line for the next Star Wars. In the Star Wars' to be released time frame, Han Solo would have to be a kid probably younger than Anakin. But Chewbaca, as Wookies are much longer lived than humans, might be the right age. Boba Fett...hmmm, was he the basis for the clones? His story needs to be told and he is in this current time line.

But the absolute worst part, without any doubt whatsoever, was and still is, Jar Jar Binks. Seriously, what the heck was Lucas thinking?!?

It's all Bush's fault!!!

I didn't find one either. I did find a Starlog magazine with the RevengeOTJ logo. I'm hoping the proceeds from selling it on whatever Ebay morphs into in 30 years will keep me from having to eat Alpo more than once a week in my golden years.

I have the poster. One sheet, in fact. Bought from the SW fan club. They made a big deal of buying them back from fans, offering other stuff. Then GL had the ones returned burned.
I kept mine. What's it worth these days, rolled?
