I am guessing that for the airline and for the gov't bureaucracy, it is better to consider this, "no harm, no file." To pursue the matter, when these people had not actually KILLED anyone (yet), would just open everyone to charges of racism and criminal profiling, jeopardizing their careers, their futures, their personal financial solvency. There are LAWS about this, about diversity (arilines can't detain more than two a-rabs on a given flight, IIRC). Better to frisk some white old ladies until time to punch out for the day.
