Another perspective on Annie Jacobson's story... I'm relieved that air marshals were following the men closely and did check the bathroom after they went in there. Can anyone "overreact" when you're worried your plane will blow up?

Absolutely ridiculous

After 911, with this suspicious activity, these men should have been restrained and detained.
If this had not been a "dry run" by IslamicFacist Terrorists, the plane would be dust now. Along with how many innocent people?

Why have Air Marshals if they have a badge on their foreheads that says "Security" and they just sit by and let this stuff happen?

“The lady was overreacting,” said the source. “A flight attendant was told to tell the passenger to calm down; that there were air marshals on the plane.”

Real cool of the air marshals to blame her for justifiably being concerned.

"overreact" only means she almost disrupted the outcome. She meant no harm, and they know that now, but she and her husband were a concern in and of themselves in the whole situation.

This seems to be a pretty reasonable judgment and perspective from the point of view of the Air Marshalls in that incident.

It was weird, and everyone who was watching thought so.

“I was freaking out,” Kevin replied. “We don’t freak out in situations like this,” the air marshal responded.

So much for anonymity. It isn't heartening to know that air marshals are this easily identified.

Jacobsen was on O'Reilly show this week. She said all of the 14 Middle Easterners were traveling on expired visas.
This was discovered after they were let go.

“We followed up with the casino,” Adams said. A supervisor verified they were playing a concert. A second federal law enforcement source said the concert itself was monitored by an agent. “We also went to the hotel, determined they had checked into the hotel,” Adams said.

Be more specific. Which hotel? Which casino? I don't think there are casinos in Los Angeles. Maybe these guys took a connecting flight to Las Vegas where they were scheduled to open for Linda Ronstadt.

Details, man, details.

Well, that rules them out. We all know terrorists never have another profession as a cover, after all.

The air marshals did, however, check the bathrooms after the middle-eastern men had spent time inside, Adams said.

I guess they did pass the smell test after all.

Unless it was an Arab casino, I cannot imagine why any casino in California would hire a band of Syrians from Detroit! Could they possibly have earned enough money from that gig to pay for 28 one-way tickets from Detroit to L.A., plus hotel and meals? Is the FBI that dumb to believe such a story?

Anyone remember "The Blues Brothers?" The Blues Brothers Band talked their way into a "gig" that they didn't have by just driving up to a bar and pretending that they were the band that was supposed to play that night. The bar owner had never seen the real band before, so he let the Blues Brothers play. Couldn't these Syrians have just called a casino, booked hotel rooms, and found out what band was playing that night and told the authorities they were that band? The authorities may have only checked out their hotel reservations and the name of the band. As the 9/11 Commission report says, we have a continual failure of imagination in the U.S. It is very easy to imagine how this group of Syrians could concoct such a story and the FBI fail to fully check it out. Unless I see reports of FBI agents actually seeing this "band" playing in that casino, and seeing an actual check written to them from the hotel manager, I don't believe any of this cockamamie story.

There's nothing at all wrong with being vigilant, but the men were actually getting up to use the lavatory, and talking among themselves, fer heaven's sake!

the men made frequent trips to the lavatory, repeatedly opened and closed the overhead luggage compartments, and appeared to be signaling each other

Why didn't the lady think of musicians immediately?

Now they want to paralyze us into the same passenger behavior they knew to expect of us on 9/11.

The only possible way that the muslims could pull it off again is if we sit on our hands expecting air marshals that might or might not be on board to handle the situation.

You must be careful don't you know? Overreacting can be very dangerous! Under-reacting can be fatal! Banning muslims makes you a bigot! Have a nice flight!

This "Air Marshall" BS has got to improve beyond this. The only thing that saved their a$$ on this flight was that the ME's didn't blow up the plane.

It seems to me by the original story, that they had ample time to do whatever they wanted to do while they "were under surveillance!

If there are Islamic terrorist organizations operating in the US with members whose backgrounds are sufficiently scrubbed that they aren’t on our watch lists, you can be pretty certain thay are not putting them on such flights, 14 at a time, to clown around and blow their cover.

Nice to know you may be caught in a cross fire or flaming wreckage. . .at least you knew Air marshal's were there.

Why not just chill and take a nap. . .Air Marshal's (undercover) are there to stop anything from starting.

Right. . .

Can anyone comprehend, that in 1944, just 3 years after the attack on PEARL HARBOR that we allow 10 Japanese Foriegn nationals with expired visas flying around our nation and everyone saying "NO PROBLEM".

Just stop the racial profiling PLEASE!!
