Unfortunately, on tonight's news I heard Sharpton say that his message would have resonated more if he (GWB) were not the messenger. Are you kidding? I'm watching the replay now and the President was very gracious to Sharpton, as he was to all the attendess that he pointed out specifically. Why can't people just be gracious in return? Why did Sharpton have to say something negative after sitting and smiling in the man's face?

Oh, I dunno..... maybe because Sharpton is a jerk ? I heard him say that on FNC.

Why did Sharpton have to say something negative after sitting and smiling in the man's face? Because Sharpton's whole career and power depends on there being a black underclass. If all black people were affluent and fully emancipated, Sharpton would be out of a job or would have to compete as a politician on other issues.

RH...that comment says more about Sharpton's view, than about W's speech. AND...it says much between the lines. He is saying the message was good...just not who was saying. Stick with the first part of what he said...not the last. I think his response is very telling...and not entirely the reaction I would think Kerry types would want said.
