That's exactly what you said - when you commentated that you mother hired Central Americans. BTW, your landscaper is from Central America if he is from El Salvador - did your mother hire him because he was a better worker or because he charged less than a native American?
I know where El Salvador is :) She hired him because he was available and because he was better. He certainly isn't cheap that's for sure. Her first landscaper was an American and he moved. The second was an American as well but he was on drugs and always asked for an advance. There are still Americans doing landscaping in the traditional sense.
Sarc, I hate to say it, but it is near IMPOSSIBLE to find an able bodies native born person (white, black, Nuyorican) to clean your house or do your yardwork in the New York area. I wouldn't hire anyone from the Red Hook projects (native born all) to pull my weeds, let alone clean my house.
