Stupid move by the terrorists.

Yep, watch for a team of Egyptian "special ops" quietly slip into Iraq for special little mission.

Note to Islamonazi's in Iraq, don't try this with any Israelis, either.

Actually, asking for money is not that far fetched. One of the reasons that FARC (Colombian lefty guerrilla group) was able to survive is that companies paid them off not to blow up the pipelines. All of the oil companies had had a policy against this, but one German company violated it and paid them something like 2 million dollars (this was about 10 years ago). The unfortunate thing was that FARC had almost run out of steam at that point, but the money was enough for them to gear up again and go back to wreaking havoc.

That will probably take some divine intervention. It certainly won't be a political decision.

When are they supposed to slice off THAT guy's head?? According to the article up-thread, "A man identified as Mohammed Mamdouh Hilmi Kotb, a third most senior official at the embassy in Baghdad, was shown on the footage sitting in front of six masked armed men dressed head-to-toe in black."

This particular pose is a symbolic threat to do just that.

"...in response to Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif's offer to Iraq of his country's security expertise."

We'll have to think about this for a moment, Ahmed.

Have these terrorists actually killed any Middle Eastern or Islamic captives yet? I don't think they have, though I might be wrong.

Ok, that's it. Al "Johnny on the Spot" Jazeera and the beheading squad are one and the same.

These guy's are going to get backed up in their work if they don't find a more efficient way of removing the heads of their captors. I'm sure that Ron Popiel has something in the Mince-O-Matic line that can speed things up a bit.

Definitely do not doubt that. But these extremists were beheading people in the Phillipines long before we invaded Iraq. This is not a shock nor a suprise. They will continue to do this until they are gone or they have killed everyone. Even if all of their demands today were met, they would find some new reason to continue.

Dr. Guillotine solved that problem over 200 years ago. Between 6/12-6/28 1794, during the French Reign of Terror, "almost 1300 people were sent to the Gillotine (an average of 28 beheadings a day)."

Interesting event that shows that we are winning the war on Terror. The Group name is "Lion of God" That was the nickname given by Mohammed to his cousen Ali--who started the break-away cult called Shi'its (who hate the majority of Islamic Followers who are Sunni). The Egyptians, always odd balls in the Islamic world, are Sunni and more liberal minded in their Islam (outside of a minority of whackos--mostly college students and fanatics like the nut jobs that killed Sadat). Islam is turning upon itself! This act will cause the Egyptions to seek wider reforms in Islam and crack down on the fundamentalists and Shi'ites among them. This can only be good for the West (or "Romans" and "Crusaders" as the Islamic nut cases like to call us).

There's another aspect to this story. I read recently (forgot where) there's a movement in Egypt by a group who want the country to distance itself from the arabs. Their catchcry is; WE ARE NOT ARABS,WE ARE EGYPTIANS. Reminds me of Gaddafi: LYBIANS ARE AFRICANS.

Seems they all want to keep islam as their religion but some of them are finding the wahhabi arab creed a liability. These are the indigenous people who were converted by the sword, as were the Persians. (Iran.)

The potential for islam to destroy itself from within is perhaps the best hope we have. Not only the 'converted' are waking up, but the battle for the caliphate continues, Sunni vs Shia.

Historical evidence of how even the arab tribes turn against each other is documented in ancient Hewbrew Lore. A combined force of a million or more arab tribes, (insurgents?) at the time of King David, fell upon each other in a great slaughter and virtually anihillated themselves over a dispute - how the 'booty' would be divided after their attack on Jerusalem, while the Jewish people watched and prayed. (Ages in Chaos. Velikovsky.)

I hope they do the same again.

Al-Jazeera is long overdue for a visit by Tommy Hawk.
