Some heavy reading here, but worthwhile I think!
CNN, like other news organizations around the world, repeatedly reported as factual the Palestinian claim that the Israelis had carried out a massacre in Jenin; after it was established that there had in fact been no massacre, CNN admitted its mistake. (Many other news organizations continue to echo this calumny.) For Prestowitz to represent the Jenin episode in the way that he does -- and to ignore the strong anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian slant of most European news organizations -- seems deliberately misleading. One quibble I have -- CNN isn't a news organization, any more than the Today Show is.
I know you read a great deal, anything surprising to you in this ?
Alvy: I'm so tired of spending evenings making fake insights with people who work for Dysentery. Robin: Commentary. Alvy: Oh, really, I heard that Commentary and Dissent had merged and formed Dysentery.
