Something was definitely up on that flight if things occurred as reported. Either an aborted attempt to take it down, a test run to observe reactions, or they were trolling for a response that would generate race related lawsuits. I think the airlines need to start having "bat day" just like the ballparks used to have. Make it every Thursday or so - then I can plan my travel on those days and feel a little safer.

I think these actions are meant to distract us from the the _real_ next threat....which we do not now know. But I'll bet it doesn't involve hijacking airplanes.

"Given the facts, they had no legal basis to take an enforcement action. But there was enough of a suspicious nature for the FAMS, passengers and crew to take notice," Adams said. Given the past, you don't need a legal basis to take enforcement action!
This country has gone PC mad, and it is dangerous for us all.

I'm thinking a test run, and instead of commandeering the plane, they'll just blow it up.

...I'll bet it doesn't involve hijacking airplanes.I disagree. I believe another hijacking may be in the works, and it may be a small component of a larger scaled attack. I'd like to be proven wrong, but, with the historical fact that the islamofacists have been boasting about another attack much larger in scale than 9/11 for quite some time now.

Perhaps. It seems to me it would be much easier to take a plane down with a shoulder launched missile or even a lucky RPG shot from the airport perimeter. Less complex, fewer people involved, no airport screening. There would be no problem getting the hardware into the country and the user could possibly get away without being caught. It would have the same effect and it would be impossible to patrol all of the industrial parks and public roads around the nation's airports. The feds posted a warning about the possibility of this last year.

The practice runs could be the red herring. To have our focus there and is planning a more vicious attempt with RPG's or something more treacherous.

It is disgusting that the passengers said and did nothing about this. So we just let foreign diaperheads terrorize us and not even speak a word POST-9/11??? I and most of you would have been questioning them and generally raising a ruckus about this crap. What the hell is wrong with these sheeple???

Federal officials and L.A. police detained the Syrian men upon arrival, fingerprinted them and released them after checking their story that they were musicians hired to play at a casino. Syria is a terrorist-sponsoring dictatorship. Moreover Bush recently signed the Syria Accountability Act, with big sanctions. Why do we even let these vermin into our nation?

This
National Review article (link opens in new window) connects the dots on the whole story, thanks in large part to the blogosphere.

Taylor wrote,
"...and no one, not the flight crew, and not the air marshals, challenged their egregious violations of protocols about congregating near restrooms or standing up in unison as the plane started its descent." I'm pretty sure that this is untrue. And BTW, if terrorists took the trouble to learn to fly planes, it would not be a big thing for them to learn to play instruments.

My intention was not to discredit the thread post, it was to give this story more perspective. They may have been a band or they may not have been. It had been reported in the days following 9/11 that the 9/11 hijackers had used phony passports, which the Taylor article had eluded to in the occurances on the Northwest flight.

It's disgusting we allow all these diaperheads into our country in the first place!
Does Bush have to put up with strange diaperheads wandering around on Airforce One at 30,000 feet? Why in hell would he expect us to do so? This is bull sh*t!
