This is absolutely sickening. Planet Hollywood (and Starwood Hotels incidentally, co-owner of the hotel) just slapped every real American right in the face.

This sounds like really a bad business decision IMHO. They should just let it be..

Then, good-hard-workin' Americans who believe in their country should boycott these hippy-dippy, unpatriotic establishments. Then we'd see whether these losers can actually make their own little world go 'round. I'm betting against it (but at another establishment).

When does the new ownership take over? I had been planning to go to Vegas and stay/play @ the Aladdin but I will now need to change my plans.
These idiots need to go read the 1st Amendment, where it clearly states that ONLY GOVERNMENT may not restrict freedom of speech.

After twelve months with popularity ratings rivaling Leftist Talk radio, the ownership will probably change again.

Memo to self: Add to list.
Done with Planet Hollywood. Libs can frequent and keep the doors open.
Hope they fold.

The Planet Hollywood people have bought a casino that is out of date and ill suited to compete with the mega-resort properties developed more recently. This appears to be an attempt by the new owners to create publicity through controversy. They are looking for anything that will generate a buzz about the property, and hopefully increase the number of visitors.
As the ownership of the casinos becomes more concentrated in Las Vegas the marginal players, and Planet Hollywood will be a marginal player, will have to try and carve out niches. Maybe the niche Planet Hollywood will go after is the burnt out relics of the 1960's.

FYI--Planet Hollywood will not be the new owner of the Aladdin...Robert Earl (CEO of PH) will personally be a part owner. He and his partner have simply gained the licensing rights to use the Planet Hollywood name. Also, Starwood owns a very insignificant ownership interest (15%) in the property and thus won't have any decision power.

They're going bankrupt. Planet Hollywood is owned by Hollywood stars. They've had to close many of their properties around the world, and aren't doing well in Vegas. The Hip crowd goes to the Hard Rock Cafe here.

Planet Hollywood has never, in our 13 year history, restricted any artists' right to free speech Her rights were NOT violated. God, these leftist don't have a brain cell left! She got booted BECAUSE she expressed herself and management rightly thought that her outburst could potentially hurt their business and reputation.
People go to shows, buy tickets for shows, to be entertained, not to hear some artists personal political views. If they want to spew political views, they should advertise their shows as such:
"One Night Only! Linda Ronstadt Gives Her Political Views - and Oh Yeah, She Will Also Sing"

Hmmm, I don't plan on going to Vegas anytime soon, but if I do, the Aladdin will be off limits. Planet Hollywood is already on my booboo list.

Starwood is one of the world's largest hotel and leisure companies. Starwood's status as one of the leading hotel and leisure companies resulted from the 1998 acquisitions of Westin Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. and certain of its affiliates ("Westin'') (the "Westin Merger'') and ITT Corporation (the "ITT Merger''), renamed Sheraton Holding Corporation ("Sheraton Holding'') and the 1999 acquisition of Vistana Inc. (renamed Starwood Vacation Ownership, Inc. or "SVO''). The Company conducts its hotel and leisure business both directly and through its subsidiaries. The Company's brand names include St. Regis (R), The Luxury Collection (R), Sheraton (R), Westin (R), W (R) and Four Points (R) by Sheraton. Through these brands, Starwood is well represented in most major markets around the world. The Company's operations are grouped into two business segments, hotels and vacation ownership operations.
