Thank you for those Freepers who rallied with us to show support for Anton Srdanovic's run for NY's 14th Congressional seat. We told New Yorkers we will not stand for Rep.Maloney and her group of Democrats who want us kneel to the UN during our elections.
Anton Srdanovic announced July 21, 2004 that he has filed to run for Congress on the Republican ticket in the 14th district of New York City. Unopposed in the primary, Anton is running against incumbent Democrat Carolyn Maloney. Anton led a rally at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza opposing Rep.Maloney's request for UN election monitors at American polling sites.
Supporters waving signs like "UN OUT OF US ELECTIONS", "SAVE OUR SOVEREIGNTY", "NO MORE BALONEY DUMP MALONEY", and "VOTE ANTON" came out for the congressional candidate.
"I don't want France saying we picked the right person. I don't want Germany saying we picked the right person, and I don't want the majority of dictatorships that make up the UN telling us who our president is," said Anton while standing with congressional candidate Peter Hort.

I would suggest that the UN monitor elections in NY, CA, DC, MA, and VT. Obviously, something has gone awry in those jurisdictions.

Four freepers were present: paltz, firebrand, NYC GOP MAN, and Oschisms. There were also two Protest Warriors there. Also present: Don Rosenberg and Kevin Degidon of the National Traditionalist Caucus; Alan Finger of the American Flag Institute; Vinnie from HPD; Melissa; Katherine; campaign manager Rick Brownell; Dominique; Peter Hort, who is running against Nadler; Manhattan GOP stalwart Debra Leible; of course the candidate; many others I did not know; and two people videotaping the rally. When asked where they were from, they said New York Times TV. (What is that??) Then when asked how they heard about it, they said through Carolyn Maloney. I can just imagine the spin.
There were plenty of flags. Lots of tour buses passing by, but the people seemed strangely apolitical, or perhaps dead.
I had a sign that said "UN OUT OF FLORIDA" on one side (even though the UN already said they weren't going, I thought it was best to remind bystanders what the fuss was about), which I held up to the traffic as the traffic was moving. The other side said "RETURN ALL ANTI-AMERICAN MEMBERS OF CONGRESS TO PRIVATE LIFE." That's the side I turned when the cars were stopped at the traffic light.
A very nice rally, especially when Anton took us all to the Press Box, on Second Avenue, and bought us all a drink.
Unfortunately, my photos won't upload. I'll try again maybe tomorrow.
I hear petitions are being challenged in the 14th Congressional. Anybody know who is challenging whom?

Maloney is challenging her primary opponent "Jereski".
She's trying to kick him off the ticket.
Fantastic wrap up, Fire Brand.

Way to go guys!
I wanted to take the opportunity to out one of the pro-UN members of my congressional delegation. A congressman from my state, Chris John, voted against banning American funding for UN observance of our elections. To date he won't explain his vote, but I'm not letting it go so easily. He wants to be Louisiana's next senator, but he's utterly disqualified himself for the job by voting with the Jacques Chirac wing of the Democratic Party.
Explain your vote, Chris John!

(Kerry, you have low poll numbers but I have good news. I just saved hundreds by switching to Geico.)
