The meeting between premier Ariel sharon and Shas leader Eli Yishai has ended. Both men praised the "positive atmosphere".

It now appears that the secularist Shinui and the Haredi (ultra Orthodox) parties, Shas and United Torah Judaism, may drop their long time mutual emnity and agree to sit together in a coalition. Until recently this seemed unlikely if not impossible. Who knows? Maybe reconcilliation between the Orthodox and non-Orthodox/secular in Israel is possible.
