Scouting jetliners for new attacks
The Washington Times ^ | Audrey Hudson

Flight crews and air marshals say Middle Eastern men are staking out airports, probing security measures and conducting test runs aboard airplanes for a terrorist attack. At least two midflight incidents have involved numerous men of Middle Eastern descent behaving in what one pilot called "stereotypical" behavior of an organized attempt to attack a plane.

Some one needs to check out this casino. Why are they hiring Syrians as musicians? The guy that hired them is probably a terrorist as well.

Good point. Sometimes I think Jim Robinson should just create a Free Republic Investigations Unit. A question like the one above can be posted, and any freepers with time to kill can just go out and find the answers. I'm constantly amazed at the collective resourcefulness of the folks on this site.

You're right, it's not that hard to sit down for 30mins. Might be something to think about on a limited basis. All of us must remain vigilant, especially over the next few months. Fly safe!

Listening to Nour Mehana, he sounds just like that creepy arabic chanting music from the murder videos Al Qaeda keeps putting out. Wonder if they sample from the Mehana collection when they're releasing their latest beheading video.

"Gosh, maybe a law should be passed requiring airlines to provide a prayer room for their Muslim passengers on each airplane. Think that would pacify them???"

Ok, I detect some pretty thick sarcasm there. But what's your point?

You are both amusing. One of you is angry that the government isn't protecting you, the other blissfully unaware that the government can't protect you.

If I were you I would call around to different airlines and ask what their procedures are for handling situations like this and then decide for yourself if the risks are worth it.

No one can guarantee your safety, least of all the government. The government is a big reason why nothing is done in situations like this. If racial profiling were allowed, middle eastern men wouldn't even be allowed to board an airplane without through questioning and searches.

"It's a probe. They are probing us," said a second air marshal, who confirmed that Middle Eastern men try to flush out marshals by rushing the cockpit and stopping suddenly.

Reminds me of the movie "Signs", where the recruiter says the aliens are checking us out first ("to see if it's clear.....) before they attack. The next time the bad guys go after us, they will have had many trial runs, don't you think so? Of course, being politically correct, we must not do any "racial profiling". Who knows? They could be white guys from Wales trying to blow us up. But profile Middle Easterners - NEVER !

Anyone know why this isn't Front Page-worthy?

Everybody on this thread who IS concerned should be calling their senators and congressmen. They DO listen if there's enough people calling. I have already called both of my senators and my congressmen. We have to do our part - to sit here and bitch and complain on this thread DOES NOTHING. Pick up the phones and call people! It takes only minutes.

Sorry, but I'm pissed about this.

The other related thread referenced earlier in this one-Terror in the Skies, Again-is stuck at 18 posts.I've tried twice to put this one in Front Page news and its been removed from there both times.
First, this is extremely serious information and should be viewed by as many Americans as possible. It may not be as exciting as some of the other information out there, but,it is very disturbing.
Second, why would anyone, particularly a FR moderator presumably a patriotic conservative American, not want this information to have the most wide exposure possible?

I discussed this with my wife and asked what she thought I would do. Her response..

Probably walk down the aisle asking the passengers if they had a military or LEO background. Then suggest that they swap seats with other passengers to protect the cockpit and lav doors and have others sit next to the ragheads to observe their every move.

Being unPC I agreed, that is exactly what I would do. A few unpolite gentle hand movements would keep them sitting in their seats until the aircraft landed.

I think the ragheads would have stopped all practices had a dozen men in the 200 pound weight class started to follow their every movement.

Mr Raghead, if you feel like screaming, let me rub your throat for you. Let me be a good neighbor and hold your phone and McDonalds bag for you while you use the restroom. Oh, I insist it isn't a problem. Sir, Your arm will feel normal in just a few moments. Go ahead, enter the restroom but I'm sorry the door will need to remain open while you are in there. Yes, privacy is something that we respect.....for citizens! Believe me a gentle frisking doesn't hurt anything but your pride. Okay, now please return to your seat.

>>One shot through a window and that plane is gone<<

Try knocking out seven windows, that's when the air masks will fall out for you.

You are terrified of guns and believe me it shows.

I second that! If the FAM can't do it, I say the passengers can. We can do our own screening.

That is a perfect example of taking action. WTG!

Wind whistling and clear sky.

I would imagine that complimentary new underwear would be needed more...

You don't think it is strange that a casino hires Syrian musicians?

I think people who go to casinos are strange.

If I went to a casino, and the entertainment was the cat screeching that constitutes most middle eastern pop music, was the only thing on offer, I would wonder if the entertainment director had lost his mind.

Lost his mind? Maybe. But I wouldn't assume he was a terrorist.

LOL! I bet more than one *evacuated* on that plane ride, especially the poor folks in the open newly-created convertible section.
