Talking about great books to read this summer, I recently chatted with my friend Dick Scaife. "This is the best book written about what happened in the '90s," he said emphatically.
The book he was referring to was the recently published "Hillary's Secret War: The Clinton Conspiracy to Muzzle Internet Journalists," by Richard Poe (Thomas Nelson/WND).
I told Dick I couldn't agree with him more. Poe, a New York Times best-selling author, has really told the story of what happened in the 1990s. We both agreed that the title of the book, however, doesn't really tell the whole story.
The story of the '90s was not so much about Hillary Clinton. She was incidental to it. The story was how some Americans tried to get information to the public during a period when the establishment media held a near-monopoly on the information flow to the American people.
They were the "gatekeepers," and journalists like me were the partisans. But like the Berlin Wall that collapsed, the gatekeepers in the United States lost control of the gates.
The rise of the Internet was the key story of the '90s and led to the undermining of the establishment media.
This period also coincided with the Clinton presidency.

FReep This Book: HILLARY'S SECRET WAR, by FReeper, Richard Poe!

Why FReep this book? Number one, it is our story. It's the story of the new Underground Internet media. ...
Bill and Hillary's books, and books written by their elite liberal friends and co-conspirators, are being heavily promoted by the political movers and shakers of the world, and the complicit major media is playing right along on cue. The stores and library shelves are filling up with their whitewashed version of history.
Our side has many books to counter the lies, but this one I think is especially important as it is the story of the grassroots resistance. This is not just another partisan story. It's a story seen through the eyes and reported by people like you and me and hundreds of thousands of grassroots activists just like us. ...
