Kilmer's "Trees" was one of my favorites when I was a kid just because it was so easy to memorize. Then I found out that Joyce was a man and I switched to Shakepeare....

Well, maybe that Tree didn't want a hammock attached to it. Trees have feelings too, ya know.

If a tree falls in the forest, will an environmentalist hear it? Guess not.

a tree supporting a hammock fell and crushed him. I was expecting him to look a bit more like Michael Moore:

For everybody that thinks this guy's death is such a crack-up: Don't take it to personal. People are just angry with the extreme enviro wack jobs. Not saying he was one, but folks are still very upset at these extremist.

Joyce was Kilmer's first name.
(actually, it was his middle name, but he used it like his first)

a thirty foot oak fell right on my car as I innocently drove past it. I know that some here will consider me a "speciesist" for asking this question, but inquiring minds want to know.
Was the perp a red oak or a white oak?

I'm really getting sycamore and more of these whackos getting all this free press.

Probably politically incorrect to yell TIMBER....so someone shouted "Fore"...he didn't get the heads up...if this wasn't kinda tragic...it would be kinda funny. OK..so this is my black humor day...

:Hums "Isn't it ironic":
Which by the way did not live up to the title proving once again that the western school systems are failing to teach as most things listed in the song are not ironic at all but are simply unexpected or bad luck which may or may not be ironic.
However in this case a man who has dedicated his life to saving trees being killed by a tree can indeed be classified as ironic.

Joyce was Kilmer's first name. Must be the Irish in me, the first Joyce I thought of was James Joyce.

Was the perp a red oak or a white oak? Considering the darkness of the humor in this thread, I am guessing it to be a Black Oak.

Being a completely insensitive white male....
BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!
Snort! Snort! (wipes tears of mirth from eyes)
I can just imagine Shakespeare's wood nymph looking down from her perch in the tree over the hammock, and seeing that the book was made from the tree her mate lived and died in. She screams "Revenge!" and topples the tree on the unsuspecting land shark, er, lawyer.
This is just too rich.
