Ping!
Awesome. Gothic, conservative.. who could ask for more..?
Yoo ah gettink it, girlie man!!!
Well, I can't say that I mind having their votes, but I am a Christian conservative myself and STRONGLY disapprove of the "gothic" lifestyle.
Arnold made a joke and the Democrats got offended. Hey, if its a joke either ignore it or laugh with it. If you go ballistic, people think the satire fits. And the Democrats have shown that they can't take being ridiculed well. This from the same folks who think nothing of lampooning Republicans with bathroom humor. Go figure.
I wouldn't say the "goth" lifestyle runs to my tastes but in America people can be individuals. Its the Democrats who want to herd us all into an enforced Soviet-style collective conformity.

The Democrats, really, are boring. Theyre killjoys and prigs. Forget your girlfriend wearing the rubber catsuit at the weekend, materials its made of harms the environment. Forget that beer, its bad for you and the company probably makes contributions to the Republican Party. Forget smoking. Forget laughing at anything except Republicans. By adhering to a creed in which the personal is political, the Democrats have meant that sheer, unalloyed bliss is alien to them, because everything and anything has political content rather than is merely an exercise of individual preferences. It is perhaps justice of a sort that in their attempts to suppress liberty, whether it is in economic or personal choices (i.e., what to drink or smoke), the Democrats have made themselves unable to be free to really enjoy themselves.
But credit where credit is due. The biggest joke of the 2004 political season does belong to them: John Kerry.
The Lurch doesn't exactly look like he could tell jokes. John F*ckin's so serious he leaves people bored. Now there's a joke Democrats are unable to appreciate: a candidate bereft of humor.
Other than wearing a lot of black, what is the "gothic" lifestyle?
Kerry was going to visit the Catholic National Cathedral outside Washington as part of his campaign. Kerry's campaign manager made a visit to the Cardinal and said to him, "We've been getting a lot of bad publicity among Catholics because of Kerry's position on abortion and the like. We'd gladly make a contribution to the church of $100,000 if during your sermon you'd say John Kerry is a saint." The Cardinal thinks it over for a moment and agrees to do it.
Kerry shows up, and as the Mass progresses the Cardinal begins his homily. "John Kerry is petty, a self absorbed hypocrite and a nit-wit. He is a liar, a cheat, and a thief. He is the worst example of a Catholic I've ever personally known.
But compared to Ted Kennedy, John Kerry is a saint."

Well, hell, I'm gothic and I'm accepting of you... kind of embarassing for you to be out-christianed by a non-christian, huh?
Bob "Mr. Fun" Mulholland
Fun like a root canal.
I don't think there is such a thing as a monolithic gothic lifestyle. That's half the point of it. It's really just an aesthetic thing, for people who really like Halloween.
Manly girl.
I was unaware of the goth republican underground until I came across a goth conservative on a political chat room. I was surprised.....in a good way.
Ivan..keep up the great work!!
;)
My knowledge of goth extends mostly to that Saturday Night Live series of sketches.
