Coop......until it is proven about the nukes you are right keep an open mind......but ....this passage has me wondering if we have snagged the BIG FISH:
The same sources told al-Sabah that al-Douri, who held meany Ba'ath party positions during the former regime, was falsely pronounced dead on its demise. Forged death certificates had been circulated.
Izzat al-Dori was rumored to have been dying or dead last year....

The peanut gallery will never stop yelling "No WMDs!" any more than it will stop yelling that gore won the vote in Florida.

Get real. It isn't a stockpile so it doesn't count.

I don't buy it. But..... why would the coalition newspaper report this? Maybe the main editor had the day off?

"If true, this story could only get better if it's found that French technology and parts were used to construct the weapons."
If true, there'll be an explosion at the UN. I have always had a picture in my mind, of Powel going back for a second presentation. I read a 'wild' report on an FR thread last week, that Gadaffi of Lybia planned to announce his nuclear weapons came from Iraq. Heck, I can dream this is all for real, can't I?
I want GWB to have something to really smile about.

I did some googling and could not come up with a Khidhir (Khidhur) al-douri. I did find Khidhir Hamza, a former official within Hussein's nuke program.

gee,that is scary
Surprised? You didn't really think the primary reason Bush led us into Iraq was to nation build. Overlooked in the discussion of Iran being the real menace is the convenience of having a large force and staging area on Iran's doorstep. (And Saudi Arabia for that matter.)
To: Dog
I doubt it. I believe al-Douri is along the lines of al-Tikriti - as in someone is from that region. One of our smarter Arab FReepers can educate us further.
There's also a Mohammad al-Douri that was Iraq's UN envoy (or something like that).

God these people are hopeless. A nuke could detonate in their arse and they would blame it on the chemicals put in our food.

I never doubted that a paper published this story. I do doubt its authenticity.
Just the technical feasibility stretches credibility. We know Iraq had a nuke program, but we have no evidence of any finished bomb or nuke testing. Yet they already have three weaponized systems? Not likely.
However, it IS possible that - if this story is legit - Iraq purchased these missiles from another country. I'mNK not goiNKng to speNKculate on whicNKh countryNK might hNKave done suNKch a thiNKng.
