SEN. SAXBY CHAMBLISS: 'Reportedly these documents are related to homeland security and then suddenly we see the Kerry campaign came forward with what may have been illegal documents. This is sensitive stuff and was a significant breach of security...Kerry knows better than to use these documents,' Chambliss says in a press conference.
SEN. GORDON SMITH: 'There is a curious connection between the removal of these documents and the Kerry press conference on port security..It's disappointing what people might do as they try and take the President down.
Yeah, Fox had it just about ahout an hour ago.
Rules and laws are for Republicans; Democrats answer only to a much higher power (Trial Lawyers, NEA, etc). There will be no legal action taken against Berger, much less Kerry.
It's going to be hard to top that one!
Nah, he's getting a fresh dose of his Botox in preparation of the cameras at the DNC convention.
Re#101
that is a press release of the same day, for sure.
On the one hand, I don't see anything but generic comments
But on the other, it doesn't exist on the Kerry website anymore, which sure is strange.
That could be part of it.
Boy, I'd give a lot to see the draft Berger removed, to check it against Kerry's text.
***I smell Hitlery's fingerprints all over this one. She will step forward by acclamation at the convention...just watch.***
The only thing that makes me feel a bit better about this is that the lib newsies are covering for Kerry. I think if Hitlery was behind this, they would come down hard on him.
Make mine medium rare.
omg, those people are SO stupid. The only thing he did wrong was get caught? What morons.
When Fox reported this this morning, they said the Republicans were pointing to a specific meeting Kerry had with reporters in February (another poster said they heard the date Feb 27). I think they have very specific information they are talking about. Anyone following our intrepid Republicans knows they don't go making baseless charges. Usually we're treated to "let's see what the investigation finds". I think they do have a basis for raising this concern.
Besides the steps toward deniability, any thoughts on why they would try to delete this or the significance of any of these items? They look fairly generic. The attempted coverup was a great find by .30Carbine. I wonder when the link went down.
I don't think so. This hits too close to the Clintons.
I think this sets up the BushCheney 04 Victory and leaves Hillary in the drivers seat till 08.
In other words, Berger burgles, passes it to Kerry, and Kerry exploits it by politicizing port security (in the press release in 101).
.30Carbine discovered that someone at Kerry04 had scrubbed evidence of this presumed exploitation from the Kerry website today, the day the Senators made their oblique accusation. This would indicate a sense of guilt at Kerry04.
Wouldn't that be soooo cool?!?!?!?!!??
I told my son this weekend that anytime he sees something negative about Kerry between now and the election - Think Hillary first!
Always ask why this, why now? Who released this info? Who does it benefit?
The DNC nomination is not set in stone until next week. Hillary is aging not too gracefully and will really look rough by 2008. Even if Kerry is nominee, it is to her advantage for there not to be a Dem incumbent in 2008
The RNC has no gain in releasing this now. The investigation has been going on since Oct. There was no expiration date on this scoop.
Who leaked this any way? This was not on any radar until last night. Who broke it first? (Beside FR!)
Sandy B. is loyal is Shillary, as are all the Clintonistas. The Keeper of the Files has command over them all. Taking these papers was stupid, and probably a setup.
This just doen't pass the smell test.
We now have a new definition for "taking a leak."
I toyed with the idea earlier about suggesting it was a new definition of filling your pants.
Gracias - my brain is chugging to keep up with the posts! I appreciate the explanation.
