I see my mistake. The picture caption was confusing.

Helicopter to Andrews, plane to Cedar Rapids and motorcade to Kirkwood Comm. College.

Thanks guys!

Oh,... but it is annoying to get trapped by one of those motorcades. Back in 2000 I was stuck for 20 minutes waiting for the Gore motorcade to pass. Pretty amazing operation. They blocked all traffic for at least 10 minutes prior to the motorcade passing. Helicopters overhead preceded a long line of vehicles lead by several police, then several very large dark SUVs, then more police cars, then an ambulance.

Saw the same thing down in St. Louis when Bush I visited.

Regardless of who is president, it bothers me that our highest officials feel so threatened by the general population.

I know... I know.... 9/11 changed everything.

Oh yeah? I spent all but the last year and a half of the Clinton presidency working 1 block from the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Midtown Manhattan. Every time BJ decided to visit NY it made my life miserable.

I haven't had to be anywhere near a Presidential motorcade lately. Thank goodness.

The only time I was anywhere near one, I was actually in it, so it was just fine!

President George H.W. Bush came into town for a golf tournament and I was on one of the ambulances being used.

Didn't get to meet him though. That didn't seem fair!!!!! :)
