And then there's this tidbit: "Officials with the Bush-Cheney campaign point out that Berger gave a surprise background briefing to reporters on Feb. 27 on behalf of the Kerry campaign, in which he outlined airline security issues apparently drawn from the now-missing classified memos Berger is accused of removing from the National Archives," FNC reported.
If these documents are so freaking classified, should the he Bush-Cheney campaign have told us that the Berger briefing came from the missing documents ?

I think I remember that Ashcroft wanted some documents declassified and I believe it was Ashcroft's inference that there was tampering or something similar.
I believe the Whitehouse put the kabash on the declassification. I'll have to go back. The committee of course gave Ashcroft a hard time but it was nothing compared what they TRIED to do to Condi!!
