You can bet that the investigation has been going on and the timing of this announcement has to do with the release of the 9-11 committe work this week. Then Ashcroft can do his deal with making arrests of the people involved. Unlike the Democraps the Republicans wait until their case is built and then act. They act on high moral ground and not groveling like the democraps.
Perhaps Berger decided that he would rather be a Webb Hubble than a Vince Foster.
Important ping!
OpleaseOpleaseOpleaseOplease nail this stinkin' Clintonista to the wall...
While at first reading Mr. Hastert's release sounds appropriately pointed, I didn't see the words, "criminal," "felony," "prosecuted," or "illegal" in there anywhere.
Let's pray for both.
Videos showing Mr Berger stuffing the papers into his clothing, and then copies showing Clinton's weakness regarding al Quaeda (in Albania, Somalia, etc.)
That be so great to show time and time again at the GOP convention - and of course the 9/11 relatives should be invited.
And the best part, as noted by Drudge and Rush, is that his name lends itself so nicely to the crime...
Sandy Burglar
Re#7 I'll bet there are videos. Hence, Bergler "comes clean" with his attorneys offering to cooperate. Dead to rights. Methinks there's a bigger fish involved--these were taken before some swam before the 911 commission...
Instead of being "profoundly troubled" Hastert should be demanding Ashcroft open an investigation.
EXACTLY!
Maybe the press will name it "Hanesgate"
(1) Given the probable agreement Bush made with the outgoing Klinton regime about prosecution for sins committed during their tenure Ashcroft will not pursue this (or will instigate a half-hearted low-key investigation run by ben-Veniste and a Blue-Ribbon panel of shills for the Left).
(2) Given Bush's continuing attempts to create a 'New Tone in Washington' Bush himself will not pursue this to make 'political hay' since it could lead to a contentious atmosphere of partisanship (Yeah, right.....Byrd, Kennedy, Dashle, Barney, Leahy, etc., etc.).
Sorry.
Just because Dennis doesn't act like Nancy Pelosi, Leahy, Schumer, or any of the Black Caucas members doesn't mean he's not going to follow through.
I would guess that Dennis knows more about what's going to happen than you do.
Libertarian?
I think this is fairly pointed---
"Did these documents detail simple negligence or did they contain something more sinister?..."
Bergler is a girly-man, it's panty gate, again.
Cockroach theory applies.
BTTT
No Senator, he!
Yeah -- a bottom feeder.
I'd guess the odds are against him either way.
1. Obstruction of Congress.
2. Theft of classified documents.
3.Theft from the National Archives
4. Misshandling of classified information.
....how many charges will be brought?
My guess is 0.
