--------------------------------

We had mentioned Bubba McDonald and his long Democrat history in an earlier GeorgiaVine. We've now become aware of more startling information: that this is a concerted effort to unseat a long-time Republican with a RINO who is likely to change parties after being elected.

"Citizens for a Better Georgia" and the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association are at the center of the effort at deception. This group has expended considerable funds ($150,000 or more) attacking Republican State Senator Bill Stephens in their effort to remove him from office. The organization appears to be run by Mr. John Mabry who registered "Citizens for a Better Georgia" with the Secretary of State on July 1, 2004 as a non-candidate campaign committee. The chairperson / treasurer is John G. Mabrey, 2221 Peachtree Road, Suite D - # 181, Atlanta 30309, 678-622-2877.

On the Federal level Mr. Mabrey is supporting John Kerry ($4,000) and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee ($5,000). You can see this by going to www.opensecrets.org and typing "mabrey" into the contributors' space. He's also a big Democrat contributor here in Georgia (more on that later).

You will also find Bubba McDonald's $1,000 contribution to Bill Clinton in the 1992 cycle by searching under "McDonald" in Georgia. He also gave $1,000 to Max Cleland in 2002.

According to the website for the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, Mr. Mabrey is currently a Vice President of that organization. The address listed on the mail, PO Box 7009 in Atlanta, is also listed as the address for a William Q. Bird, who also appears involved in the GTLA, and who at one point, apparently, was a partner of Mr. Mabrey (the Internet has references for www.birdmabrey.com, which appears to be defunct).

"Citizens for a Better Georgia" has sent seven mailers into Bill's district for Bubba. Mostly false, tacky, over the top personal attacks. Bill is top on their "take down" list. We always knew that these trial Lawyer/Democrat recruited candidates were promised something ... now we know what it was.

These mail pieces cost about $12,000 each, meaning that they have spent about $100,000 in an attempt to take Bill down. Trial lawyers also gave Bubba over 1/2 ($50,000) of the money he has raised at a Fundraiser they had for "their" candidates about a month ago. Democrat Party Chairman, Bobby Kahn, helped organize this fundraiser and, with the exception of Bubba, it was all Democrats. The total that they are dedicating to Bill's defeat is over 150K!!

We already mentioned Mr. Mabry's support for Bill Clinton, Max Cleland, John Kerry, and Bubba McDonald. Now for the real interesting part - If you look at who else John Mabry is supporting in Georgia you will see the names: Mark Taylor, Democratic Party of Georgia, Roger Boatright (Democrat Senate candidate, SD-07) Thurbert Baker (D-GA), Senator Nathan Dean (D-31), David Adleman (D-42) and the list goes on and on. You can find all this at the Georgia Secretary of State Disclosure page - just type "Mabrey" into the "Search Criteria for All Candidate Contribution Reports" space.

Bubba's campaign is also sending out calls from a man named Dave Inbody - Dave claims to be a Forsyth county resident and "political Director" of the Northern Arc Task Force. The truth, Dave Inbody does not even live in Georgia. He lives in Iowa and is employed by the Democratic Party of Iowa. He was also a paid organizer for the Howard Dean Campaign.

The truth is that Bill has been officially endorsed by the Northern Arc Task Force Action Committee because he stood up against, and helped kill, the ARC while Bubba was the Executive Director of "Georgians for Better Transportation" - the group of road builders proposing, and potentially profiting, from the ARC.

Democrats are openly working with Bubba and would love to see him elected over the sitting Republican Senate Majority Leader. Nothing would make Bobby Kahn and the Democratic Party of Georgia happier!

I hope this information helps and we can spread the word before it's too late...
