"This willful flouting of the rules must stop, and I don't care how many people I have to fire to make it stop. If you think the rules are silly, if you think compliance is a joke, please resign now and save me the trouble," Nanos added in a separate e-mail to Los Alamos employees. Spoken like an adult! FINALLY!!!!

Do you really think so? I don't think so. I think that's a terribly unprofessional email to send out. He shouldn't warn and threaten them -- just get the job done. But that's just me.

They have just suspended operations for a review of procedural compliance. Eveybody will show up for work on Monday and get paid but "work" is suspended till the big ass chewing is done. Whole lot of saber rattling will occur and everyone is back to routine in a few weeks. The Lab is not "closed" or shut down just work stopped for additional procedure adherence training . Happens allllll the time . This nothing but fluff and flair from the site manager trying to save his own job.
Stay safe !

It will take a lot to change the place.... lots of old timers , and they love the retirement package ...so maybe they should take it.
