"Yasser Arafat's transformation from outlaw to stateman...."
If John Kerry believes that this transformation occurred, he is a very stupid man, and a very dangerous one.
Wouldn't be the first time something like that happened. There was that angry young Austrian artist who spent about six months in Landsberg Prison and became a "statesman". Strange, they both have the same opinion about the Jews.
Who in their right mind would quote the Unabomber on ANYTHING?
Kerry's most dangerous characteristic is the 'internationalism' he inherited from his father. He seeks power in US government, yet is dedicated more to subordinating US interests to international ones, to equivalence of different forms of government (US democracy being no better), and of disdain for the concept of the US as a special nation. As a president, he would be too willing to compromise to foreign interests, blunt US power, and represent, in effect, those around the world who envy US successes and wish to impede the US rather than enable their own successes. What is truly scary for the reader of this book, is not the lenghtly, sludging pace of the tome, but rather that it takes the view that terrorism is a criminal matter, not a matter of war.
But what might be most terrifying to Freepers considering John F. Kerry becoming Commander in Chief is that he fails to mention Osama bin Laden in his entire examination of the terrorist threat facing our nation.
Great analysis.
Here in PA we have an inter-library loan system, you can request a book and the library will find it at another library and loan it to you at no charge. Meanwhile govt cutbacks have forced the local library to close on Saturdays. :(
Kerry and his publisher don't need the money, but I bet your library does.

I knew there was a reason GWB has it down for suggested reading...
I have to pick it up...
This just solidifies my thought that he is an inept fool with a world view that sees life through shit-colored glasses. How the industrial revolution oppressed people my ass. I have a better idea, why don't we all just revert back to tribalism and die at 38. Just more white liberal guilt. Moron. Is his thesis on law enforcement argueing for more police control of the world. More big brother from the left, is that it. One global community for is the future with these people.
Well that is not surprising. Afterall he hasn't had the time to get briefed on the national security.
And this man wants to be president
I don't need or want to buy, or read anything John Kerry has to say, think or does. I feel the same way with the Clinton's, Kennedy's and M. Moore. I wouldn't read or touch a book from these people if it was given to me, much less pay for it.
My thoughts and opinion.

Kerry thinks Yassar is a statesman ?!?!?
Kerry quotes the unibomber to bolster his argument ?
Isn't there a stronger word than 'distain' to describe likening the God-given and constitutionally protected right to self protection to the despicably criminal acts of supporting the criminals who run the drug trade and the desecration of women for profit?
In the book Kerry doesn't really spell out why we should or shouldn't trade with China...That squares with his record.
In 1991, Kerry Supported Most-Favored Trade Status For China. Sen. John Kerry said yesterday that he is breaking party ranks to support most-favored-nation trade status for China
I think the president has some strong arguments about some of the assets of most-favored-nation status for China, Kerry said. (John Aloysius Farrell, Kerry Breaks Party Ranks To Back China Trade Status, The Boston Globe, 6/15/91)
In 2000, Kerry Voted In Favor Of Permanent Normal Trade Relations With China. (H.R. 4444, CQ Vote #251: Passed 83-15: R 46-8; D 37-7, 9/19/00, Kerry Voted Yea)
Now Kerry Criticizes The Bush Administration For Trading With China. Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry said on Monday Americans workers were paying the price for President Bush's weak stance on trade with China and other countries.
On the bus tour, Kerry singled out the Bush administration's handling of trade with China and said that country was manipulating its currency. (Caren Bohan, "Kerry Pledges Aggressive Trade Stance," Reuters, 4/26/04)
