Shouldn't we be moving troops out of europe before we take them out of South Korea?

I am sure our naval forces in Japan could bloody the nose of North Korea though. And hasn't the South Koreans been asking us to move troops away from the border for the last few years?

I think a lot of things need to be changed with regard to where we have troops deployed and etc....

They need to get some of the specialties out of the Guards into the regular Army also, so that we don't hear about Guard units getting repetitive deployments.

Thats true. I suppose thats because in times of peace they don't need as much of certain things. And those things get shipped off to the reserves.

The current setup with what is in NG and what is in Regular Army goes back to a Congressional Decision in 1970 as I heard it described on one of the TV news programs.

The ****-heads who currently run Korea (a.k.a. South Korea -- the Pyongyang regime is an illegal secessionist dictatorship that has deteriorated into an hereditary monarchy) have been verbally anti-American. This move by the US (plus the beheading of the Korean by the Arab/Moslem terrorists in Iraq) will probably result in an alteration of attitude and/or electoral loss in favor of pro-US politicians.

I'd also suggest that this withdrawal is the supreme dissin' of Pyongyang, as it indicates that the US no longer sees its starving military as a threat (even though the US contingent's small size is also insulting). Starve the bastards out. They can try to eat those one million howitzers.
