Prayer Request for a Tiny Angel

I am PINGING you all tonight because we have had a tragedy in our family today.

 

My little sister (Renee, 33) and her husband (Kirk, 39) were expecting their first child today.  Renee was induced this morning at a hospital in Grand Rapids, MI.  She was having normal contractions for about three hours and then after her water was broken she began to bleed heavily.  She was rushed in for an emergency C-Section and although the baby was delivered within 4 minutes she had lost too much blood for them to revive her.

My niece, little Samantha Sangsland is now in heaven and my sister and her husband are without the baby they have been proudly waiting to bring home.

Renee and Kirk are very faithful Christians and have much support from their church but I would like to ask for you all to please pray for them tonight and in the coming weeks as they plan a funeral to bury their first-born.

 

I am not able to comprehend this at the moment as I am too sad to be very coherent.  I will be flying out to be with them in the next few days and just cannot imagine what they are facing.  I cannot even imagine being able to even breathe, much less function.

 

We have been really busy around here, enjoying having our family back together after Dan's return from overseas and as such I have been very tardy in getting the latest prayer requests together for Logan's Miracle Room.  I apologize, and ask for you to please include us in your prayers.

 

It is kind of late for me to be putting this thread up, so I won't be able to respond very quickly, but I wanted to get the request up ASAP.

Heavenly Father, we return to give You thanks that this tiny treasure of love that is Samantha is placed on high with You ... now always in Your Presence. Even in tearful sorrow and absolute grief, we know that You are a God of Love. Touch each grieving heart as only You can ... walk with Renee and Kirk and M0sby and their families in the days ahead, for there will yet be a time of reunion and eternal joy. The plans of our Lord are so mysterious to us, but His will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
I'm so sorry for the grief of you and the family, but Samantha is in God's arms today.

1Cor. 15:54: "So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

1Cor. 15:55: O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory."

Paul's message to the Corinthians is in reference to Isaiah 25:8:
"He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces...."

Lean on the Lord, our God, and His word, in this time of grief and sorrow.

Thank you all for all of the support.
We are very much appreciative.
My heart is breaking this morning.
We won't know exactly WHY this has happened for some time.
The DR said that the autopsy results wouldn't be back for 4-6 weeks.
Right now it sounds like something happened to the umbilical cord or placenta. But the baby was fine up to that point. They were all joking about Samantha being SO active that she was knocking the fetal monitor off.
It is just too hard to comprehend for me.

Oh this just hurts my heart. So many babies wanted by loving parents and families. Then so many babies aborted. It's so hard for me to comprehend. God bless this tiny one and I know the wings of the angels are keeping her cozy and warm for the day she is reunited with her loving parents. In the meantime though...my heart breaks for them. :(
