With the success of "The Passion of the Christ" still reverberating throughout Hollywood while viewers increasingly tune into digital cable as an alternative, it's not surprising that TBN gains favor among new viewers as the family-friendly network.

You are entitled to believe want you want, but I have first hand knowledge that says otherwise.

I went to a religious college in Costa Mesa and we had an agreement with TBN to share facilities for our communications department. I spent a lot of time at TBN and at one point I was sexually harassed by one of their unit directors and his camera crew.

I know a lot of people who have worked there and I've been to one of Jan and Paul's son's home on several occassions.

Like I said believe what you want, I know otherwise.

"That Scripture is only true if it is truly Christ that's being preached. The motives of heretics are immaterial. Heretics preach a false Christ. TBN is wall-to-wall with religious kooks. "

It is the Holy Spirit that quickens the heart when the word is spoken. It has nothing to do with the preacher. This is the point Paul is making.

If God needed righteous men for His word to go forward we would all be in trouble. Luckily God doesn't rely on mans wisdom as you seem to.

Isa 55:9-11 9 "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, 11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. (NIV)

" The problem with the Crouches is they don't preach the Gospel. Anyone who preaces faith plus works to get into heaven is a fake. "

A lot of good Catholics on this forum would disagree with you.

"Paul's point was that God's Word is going to be preached in spite of people and their individual motives."

Exactly.

I would pray that someones heart is touched from Gods Word. I wouldn't send them a dime.

"This is a strange point of view in my opinion. I don't think Jesus would want to be represented by con artists or liars. "

I just quoted the scripture.I report,you decide. ;-)

I know I know... And I respect their opinions, I just base what I believe solely on what the Bible teaches and nothing else. Not a Churches dogma or rules, but what is in that God inspired book.

I just have problem with the preachers that preach this stuff not the laymen who genuineliy believe wrongly.

I have dedicated my life to making sure that people I come into contact with know what the book says.

CBN does run a 1/2 hour news program. http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/
I don't know what channel we watch it on, but it is on before American Times News.

We have sky angel (http://www.skyangel.com) and not once in the past year do I think TBN has been turned on..

Sad to hear.

If so, God will certainly deal with them, when it becomes His priority.

I do know that Christianity in Southern California has more skeletons in their closets than a . . . graveyard.

Been too close to several of them, as evidently you have.

Sometimes it's the leaders. Sometimes it's their underlings feeding off of their own or leaders' arrogance.

It is often the people that LOVE God Almighty the MOST, that despise the corruption that is committed in His name. And it is the Pharisees that while portending a worship and love of God, were primary elements in obtaining the DEATH sentance on that very SAME God.... come in the flesh who they THEN despised.

Jesus exposed them and they hated him for it. As it was then, so it is now, and ever shall be, regarding religious frauds.
LOTS of folks have been on the receiving end of so many raw deals at the hands of charlatans. Calling a spade a spade, can really tick off the other spades in the deck.

pathetic really.
and pointing it out, does not make one a "God Hater", just a "corruption rejector."

Several of us here know the son, his women and his "lifestyle."

apples do not fall far from the tree.
Real shepherds do not joke about shearing the "sheep" and eating lamb stew... when they are out "partying" with their ministry "friends."

"If God needed righteous men for His word to go forward we would all be in trouble."

You are one confused dude.

A heretic is called a heretic because he deviates from (in this case) the orthodox Christian religion and is a preacher of UNORTHODOX doctrine and ideas.

Consequently heretics do NOT preach God's Word - they teach blasphemy and aberrance.

"...how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach UNLESS THEY ARE SENT? .." [Rom.10:14-15]

"... But there were false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you who will bring in destructive heresies ..... and many will will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. ... they will exploit you with deceptive words ... they are presumptuous, self-willed ... they speak great swelling words of emptiness. ... those who are untaught and unstable twist [Scripture] to their own destruction... Beware lest you also [are] led away with the error of the wicked...." [2 Pet.2-3]

"...CONTEND EARNESTLY FOR *THE* FAITH which was *ONCE* FOR ALL DELIVERED to the saints. For certain men have crept in unnoticed ... they have gone the way of Cain .. run greedily in the error of Balaam for profit .... they feast with you without fear, serving only themselves; THEY ARE CLOUDS WITHOUT WATER, CARRIED ABOUT BY THE WINDS; LATE AUTUMN TREES WITHOUT FRUIT, TWICE DEAD, PULLED UP BY THE ROOTS..." [Jude 3-4, 11-13]

TBN is wall to wall with heretics and religious kooks.

Type in any of their names on google and add the word apologetics or the phrase false teachers, or the phrase cults and sects, etc., etc. Open your eyes.

Jan and Paul Crouch

Founders and leaders of the Trinity Broadcasting Network. Known for their promotion of Word-Faith theology, as well as their outrageous statements against apologists and other Christians who challenge their theology and practices.

The parade of guests who are featured on Paul and Jan Crouch's TBN programming runs the gamut from the serious, sound Christian thinkers and ministers to the superficial, silly, and outright heretical.

How many viewers can tell the difference?

How many care to try?

Spiritual gullibility is widespread throughout out culture, of course, but the Word-Faith movement is part of the problem, not part of the solution

I've felt for a long time that TBN does a disservice to Christianity.

I agree. My cable service places TBN and EWTN, the Roman Catholic channel, next to each other. It's disturbing, as a Protestant, to see Jan Crouch, whose hair is an offense that reaches to the heavens, whining and crying about whatever it is she whines and cries about. I turn the channel to EWTN and what do I see? A monk teaching a theology class at a RC seminary. Of the two, EWTN is doing a far greater service to the Church universal.

A conservative network would be great, factions or not. I wouldn't mind a Libertarian Hour or a Constitution Update
