With the success of "The Passion of the Christ" still reverberating throughout Hollywood while viewers increasingly tune into digital cable as an alternative, it's not surprising that TBN gains favor among new viewers as the family-friendly network.

I've never understood why CBN doesn't run a full 30 minute professional news segment, without comment by Pat & Co, and all the miracle mush that comes later. It would be very effective if it was shown daily in the right time slot

Thats very true. I remember it was mentioned that in the early days of the Family Channel they had a morning show called US-AM

I remember after Reagan died, TBN aired a lot of his speeches at the National Religious Broadcasters conventions back to back.

"Paul and Jan Crouch are as corrupt as they come. "

How so?

When they die and met Jesus, he will turn his back on them and say, "You Know me nought." They will be cast out as servants of mammon and sent to their real god--satan.

To sstart with, they used to make the claim that no one who work for TBN makes over $30k a year. What they didn't tell you is everyone under their roof made $30k a year and that didn't count the expenses the ministry picked up on their behalf... which included private helicopters and limosines.

I'm sorry, but I don't really think God intends for Christian ministers to become wealthy off of little old ladies' pension checks. And I've seen Jan Crouch beg for donations from these people too many times to count.

Oh you're so childish. Grow up moron. Just because someone doesn't like TBN does not mean they're "God Haters".

LOL I thought God posted to me because there was a post that said (unknown). I don't have TBN. I've merely commented on folks I've seen that have also been on TBN. There are some real characters on there but doesn't mean the channel sucks, sort of like PBS ;-)

For the most part TBN is a vast wasteland. But there are a few decent preachers that
buy time on the network.

Pretty much my evaluation of TBN.

Although fairly sacriligeous, I noted that satirist radio-show host Phil Hendrie
did a show in which one of his "guests" suggested that the problem the USA has with
the Islamic world started with the broadcast of TBN to the Middle East.

I like TBN they have some great movies on every so often like the Omega Code, Megigdo, Six and One night in a Cafe.

They also have interesting topics, Jan Crouch is a bit over done up and maybe seems a but phony but I don't beleive the Crouch family to be corupt..

The Way of the Master is also a good show..

It's funny, but back I suggested
a conservative network not long after free republic started. I was booed. There was a genuine concern that the factions would kill it. Of course, that was before the purges.

Dis-Agree, why is it that most people think a Christian Network is Corupt? They have some great programs on that network and it is growing, you can also watch there movies on there web-site for free...

For the most part when guys like Phil Hendrie make fun of us Christians, we've earned it. Objectively, if there isn't a hint of truth, then it isn't funny. And from our view, if there is a hint of truth, then it isn't funny.

I wasn't saying that TBN was corrupt. I was just agreeing (with P-Marlowe) that
while they do have some excellent programming...for me, personally, a fair amount
is not "my cup of tea".
Just my opinion and I'm not saying TBN is a bad thing...just that "If I were King",
I'd set it up a little differently.
(But then I'd surely be deposed...hopelessly in a bloodless coup!)

LOl...I know the Crouch Sons are really trying to make there mark in Mainstream Cinema, they are in the process of making a movie "Esther" which will be out sometime next year...I don't care much for the howling hoolin preachers on there but do enjoy some of the other programs they show.

IMO there is really not alot of T.V programming worth watching so it is nice to see what TBN is showing...

That's fine and dandy but don't dare hire that set decorator! TBN turns off far more people than those who watch it

Hey now...somebody's got to bring the Word of God to ladies with big hair & makeup and men with way too much gold jewelry.

Discovangelists.

Ageed.
One suprise to me is that my deal old mother says she enjoys some of the
programming on ETWN (a Catholic cable channel?)...given that our "cup of tea"
is more of the Protestant/fundamentalist leaning.
There is treasure in more places that expected, I guess.

I know of no solid evidence of corruption at TBN at all.

They are not per se to my taste. But I resepect their sincerity and all they do for the cause of Christ a ton. They have ministered to me at different times in my life, God's truth, peace and help.

I think Jan is absolutely authentic. What you see is what you get. She's not my style. But, thankfully, I don't have to live with her. And Paul is a bit stern at times etc. But I respect his authenticity and earnestness as well. And, given all the givens, he can have an amazing bit of flexibility and grace.

I don't enjoy quite a number of the televangelists on their network. But they are not my employ. God is their paymaster and is well able to put them up or take them down.

PTL FOR PTL!
