When the mainstream press gets a hold of that quote they might have a field day.

Well ya gotta admit, it IS a bit over the top.

Well he is at the top.

It is good to know he does not consider himself the ultimate authority.

Not at all...that doesn't mean he thinks everything he does is what God has instructed him to do...he means that he prays to listen for God's guidance. Sometimes, we think we hear his guidance, but are really just trying to push our own agenda. The humility comes when you hear what you don't want to do, but are sure is right.

I am sure this happened with the president when he ordered us into Iraq. He knew that men would die on both sides, and that it could cost him the presidency.

Each of us is made in the image of the Lord and is here on Earth to serve the Lord. When we truly, in humility, submit to the Lord - then we are open and receptive to the Lord. Each of us is then, properly, a conduit for the Lord's wishes here on Earth. But without faith and humility and without discarding of the old 'I, me, and my', this will not occur. President Bush is only stating what every person of true faith knows; and he is speaking as but one of an infinite number.
