Calling Joe Wilson
Republican National Committee ^ | July 16, 2004

Something to Yak About – Calling Joe Wilson
And no, we’re not talking about the Gentleman from South Carolina here, we’re talking about disgraced Kerry henchman Joe Wilson, whose mug was virtually ubiquitous on the talking head circuit when he was accusing the president and most of his administration of all kinds of malfeasance regarding pre-war Iraq intelligence. But now that Joe’s been exposed as a liar, he’s somewhere deep in the tall grass. Try this on for size – Google ‘Joe Wilson’ and ‘Niger,’ and see how many current news items return. It’s fun for the entire family!

When a Spade is Just a Spade
And no, we’re not talking about Freudian psychoanalysis here, we’re talking about seeing something for what it is, to wit, John Kerry advisor Joe Wilson playing fast and loose with the truth; misrepresenting the facts; in a word, lying. Lieutenants in John Kerry’s Coalition of the Wild Eyed are still marching in lockstep and denying the lie, reminding The Yak of a fine old Collin Raye tune.

Medal of Honor Recipients Set Record Straight on Vets Spending
Aside from having a proven liar on his staff in the person of Joe Wilson, John Kerry has also been making bogus attacks on the president’s record regarding veterans spending. After months of seeing Kerry “falsely attack” the president over this issue, 21 recipients of the Congressional Medal of Honor Thursday drafted an open letter saying, “We are disturbed that John Kerry would try to scare veterans with his false accusations.”

Talkers Profile – Dom Giordano, WPHT/Philadelphia
“Which Philadelphia talk show host can judge the Miss Kensington Pageant one day, and talk with Vice-President Dick Cheney about his health the next? Philadelphia marvel Dom Giordano. Dom offers an intelligent “guy next door” sensibility that’s as comfortable as your favorite chair.” (SOURCE: The Big Talker, WPHT/Philadelphia)

The Final Yak
“Perhaps (John Kerry) is as proud of his repudiated national steering committee member who has been exposed as a liar as he is of his vote against funding our troops in the field.” (SOURCE: RNC Chairman Ed Gillespie, on Joe Wilson helping John Kerry’s campaign)

"And I tell you, i'm wondering if those documents were really forged...or who forged them..."

You mean besides the French? :)

The more we analyze the timeline, the more I wonder, too...because the Wilson story (whether coming directly from him or from supporters such as Jacoby in this instance) keeps misrepresenting the timeline, as your example shows.

In fact the committee asked Wilson why he made statements about the forged documents when he couldn't have had access to them--an indication they noticed his mixing up of the timeline, though he claimed being confused. Note that Tenet makes a point in his July statement of saying Wilson never mentioned any documents of any sort at the time he gave his oral report, and it is one thing that made me think Tenet was suspicious of Wilson and spouse.

Why would Jacoby say this here unless instructed by Wilson? Either she was told by Wilson that was the sequence and she failed to research it, or she is a willing participant in the misrepresentation.

It continues to indicate the likelyhood the British Dossier question and the 16 words question were coordinated (as we've often stated is our suspicion) attacks on Blair and Bush, and the Wilson faction's habit of using the forged documents to advance their ruse only raises the question if they had any hand in their creation.

BTW, Jacoby leaps from the (January) SOTU speech to Wilson's July op-ed with nary a reference to Wilson's February column in the Nation or appearances on PBS where he failed to raise any concerns with the president's representations. And since he does in fact refer to the speech, we know he saw it or read it. I guess the plan wasn't ripe yet...

Jacoby is just a paid liar doing what she can with what she's dealt.

I assumed Joe's comments about the forgeries was just repeating what the UN's IAEA said about them after the SOTU speech. But reading the report, I've come to the conclusion they might not be forgeries. The Coommitte reserves comment because of an ongoing "FBI disinformation investigation". Is the disinfo the documents...or that they were forged?

If the latter, is the IAEA in on it? Who helped them figure out that the "dates" and names of Nigerien officials did not match? Who knows a lot about Niger? IAEA claims they did a google search - is stuff on the web accurate?

Now that part I did see cited in an article and it caught my eye right away. I wondered if it had to do with the Wilson angle, actually, since he and his minions keep using them for their own purposes.

Anyway, I will at least try to skim the report myself soon.

"Chris Lehane, the infamous campaign dirty trickster was behind the whole thing."

He may well have played a part but I do not believe he was the original plotter.

Looks as though the intent was to stop an invasion into Iraq. Someone higher up the line had to conspire this covert act. Novak seems to have asked the question that no one else was asking why would the administration send someone like Wilson to gather "INTEL".

This seems to be the point in which the outraged Joey claimed damage to his wife. Switch the focus.

No, no, you don't understand what happened. Wilson came back and gave his report, every one yawned, Bush geve the STOU and the war proceeded. We had read about Wilson's report here on FreeRepublic. Then, after the war was over, Chris Lehane gets a hold of Wilson and dreams up this Bush lied scheme.

This guy (J.C.W.) even LOOKS like a Democrat. He has that weaselly, greasy, sneaky, snaky, crooked lying look about him.

Is there a gene study on democrats?

Novak's article questioning why the administration would send old Joe over to gather INTEL and mentioning the wife's name is what started the "SWITCH" the focus.

I do not doubt Lehane's role there in spreading the lie, however, what I want to know is who it was that set the whole scheme up in the first place.

Joe Wilson went to Africa already knowing what he planned to claim. There was an all out effort to stop the invasion. Joe Wilson nor his wife dreamed all this "intel" gathering up all on their own.

Novak seems to have asked the question that no one else was asking why would the administration send someone like Wilson to gather "INTEL".

Actually Cliff May asked that question too, before Novak's column appeared explaining it. May said a person friendly to Wilson told him by way of explanation of the otherwise inexplicable.

I got the impression from reading and seeing May talk about it (he is excellent on this subject) that he knew of others scratching their heads over Wilson's revelation that he had gone on assignment ostensibly on behalf of the Bush administration.

Actually I take that back. The Senate report does says they're forgeries...or some of them.

Joe Wilson went to Africa already knowing what he planned to claim.

To buttress the theory that this was the plan on behalf of both Wilsons, I read a WaPo article that quoted Plame as telling committee staffers that she had talked to her husband about this "crazy" (yes, her word) idea that Iraq was seeking to obtain uranium in Niger.

Also, Plame recommended her husband for the trip he made in 1999 (we knew about that trip, too, already. We did not know his wife suggested him for that trip).

I have read May's work as well as saw him discussing the subject.

Wilson since his NYTimes report and all his words that have followed, let the world know he was against the war. This being the case he already knew what he would be saying in his report before he ever went to Africa.

So Wilson was a tool to give Saddam protection, stop a war, and when that failed a "switch" of purpose took place.

We know bits and pieces of the Wilson story but not who plotted the attempt to stop a war.
