I remember in college getting a letter from the college library that I was overdue on a book and the fine was 25 cents. It cost them 27 cents (plus paper, envelope, time, etc...) to mail me the letter.

Bryan apparently was included in a recent mailing for small balances that Alexander said resulted in collection of more than $17,300. Alexander said she didn't know how much that mailing cost. She knows. The answer is just too embarrassing.

I got an invoice just before graduating college for $0.00. I had to go to the office and pay them their $0.00 before I could graduate.

You should have paid it all in pennies.

They only accepted checks. The people at the bank laughed when I told them the story.

I had one like this with the IRS. Except they also said the payment was late so they were penalizing me with a $250 late fee for not paying the $0.00 on time.

Or, maybe she doesn't know, which would also be embarassing.

Seems to me we ought to switch the IRS for the FBI. The IRS is a meaner, tougher outfit. The FBI couldn't find its a** with both hands.

Business does it too. I once had an AT&T calling card. I canceled it about 3 1/2 years ago. I moved three years ago, and did not tell them of my change. For this whole length of time I get a statement from them every month saying I AM OWED $1.23! They owe me money!! I got my latest waste of postage Monday.

To: ZGuy
How did you resolve it..?
To: TXBSAFH
I once had an AT&T calling card. I canceled it about 3 1/2 years ago...I had the same problem with them. Just call them up and they'll write it off. I was owed $0.04. They wrote me three times to tell me this, until I got tired of hearing from them and told them to close the account.
Most competent businesses write off accounts at a certain point. One place I worked wrote off all accounts at +/- 5 dollars. Made sense to me.

I have reached the point where I am just going to let them mail it to me to see how kerrying stupid these morons are.
