I was disappointed to find out Air America had been added to the Sirius Satellite lineup
I wouldn't even consider Sirius when I noticed that their "left politics" channel was full-time and their "right politics" was part-time, shared with something else, boxing or something if I remember correctly. I figured this could not be an accident, so why should my hard earned dollars support a RAT.

I mean that Air Americas ratings mean nothing if not compared to the competition.

BUT... Al Franken beat Rush in New York City... Only if Palm Beach County Democrats did the counting of those rating numbers.

The station that Air America is on had a higher rating for the entire day (as opposed to noon-3) for a certain segment of listenership. That's not true either. They extrapolated incomplete one-month numbers to show that among one (important) demographic grouping, they had slightly higher ratings during a five hour block that included (but was not exclusively) Rush's slot.
Arbitron had no such numbers (and even those number couldn't speak to the head-to-head period from 12-3), it was an extrapolation by the station itself. No published figure agreed with it.
The Arbitrend numbers fro that first month are quite preliminary. These numbers (if true) are "real deal" final numbers. Rush squashed Franken almost 3-to-1.

"Out of a sense of fairness and curiosity, I have listened regularly for the past 2.5 weeks, "
My hats off to you, you lasted 2.5 weeks! amazing! I really did try to give the local station here in Portland, the o'l college try I lasted 2.5 days. and it was a painful experience.
They do a daily devotion which starts out by taking the Lords name and then spewing garbage all over it, when they started with this it was over as far as I was concerned.
What I took away is that they are not serious about anything and joke and make fun of everything it is really pitiful

Careful... When Al Franken says he's all torn up inside, he means that he's been exposed to the AIDS virus.

>> I didn't know Al Franken was gay - not that there's anything wrong with that.<<
I thought that light Al-Gore-like lisp that Stuart Smalley was the perfect touch: Stuart was a metrosexual before metrosexual was a word. Then I found out Al really does talk like that.
