Talon News reported last week on W Ketchup which actively markets its product to people who "don't support Democrats."

What about the other 56 varieties?

I acknowledge that. At the same time it is certianly a pertinent article in light of the numbr of posts on W Ketchup to the FreeRepublic and the number of Freepers who bought the ketchup over the course of the past month.

It also is a legitmate news article and somewhat entertaining.

Overall, I was conflicted aboput positing but thought an immediate disclaimer would somewhat make-up for it. My other options were: 1. create a new account and post, but I prefer honesty. 2. Not post, and allow what I viewed as a pertinent news article to go unnoticed.

Anyway, I hope you respect the fact that I did post the disclaimer and am not shying away from acknowledging it. Also, I didn't write the article, and I didn't make the statements W Ketchup made, so I I am not responsible for its content or slant and I would argue the reporter is not respnsible for that either.

Aw heck. I didn't even read the disclaimer. Your post didn't get tossed into "Chat" or "Backroom," so I'd take that as a good thing.

I like the name "Bush Country Ketchup" better than "W Ketchup". But, I still buy the Wal Mart brand; it's cheap and it's good. I don't by anything made by Heinz.

I wonder if Heinz is starting to see a decline in sales?

Next time, have a friend post something like this and mention that the person mentioned in the article is a FReeper. That way, you can't be accused of being self-imposing or posting an advertisement. :0)

I agree that this should have been posted. Thanks for doing it.

I don't know any sales numbers, but my husband sent an email telling Heinz we would not be purchasing their products. We received a lengthy reply saying that the Kerry's no longer have any connections to the company. LOL! I would think that they are starting to feel the burn!!
