Fahrenheit 9/11 - Republican Fundraiser? -- Vanity
July 15, 2004 | olde north church

Would it be possible to rent a theater showing F 9/11 and charge maybe $100/ticket for a fundraising purposes?
Picture it:
Conservatives have a private screening room to yell at the screen without the worry of being thrown out. Moore might get his $.50/ticket but the Bush campaign or RNC gets $100.00 subtract the /seat charge. Energize the base.
The best part would be the splinter in his fat ass when he finds out his work is being used against him.
When life gives you lemons, make lemonade! Opinions?

The film contracts give him a percentage of ticket sales.

To do it you'd need to actually buy an entire screenings worth, and then sell them yourself. I am not sure of the legality of that.

Conservative Group Plans Fahrenheit 9/11 Screening Party Fundraisers. trentonrevolution, ( http://www.trentonrevolution.com ) is planning to organize synchronized rental of theater halls across the country to raise funds for independent local conservative groups.
"This will allow conservatives the chance to view the film in a more comfortable environment."
We expect this to work in a similar manner to any other fundraiser, folks would make their donations of varying amounts and in return they would view the film. All proceeds above the price of the tickets, security, janitorial services would be donated to local conservative political groups.

I was thinking about sending it to Drudge or Newsmax

This was my idea for a press release. Maybe someone with more experience could brush it up a little.
There will be additional background on trentonrevolution on the website over the next week or so. Radical satire, humor, etc. along the lines of the old National Lampoon. There will be an e-mail address made available soon.

The moveon.orgys did it.
It would burn me if I was making $1.00/ticket while an ideological opponent was making $30/ticket, as an example more.

"A maggot that eats off the dead" – that's what the mother of a U.S. Air Force major killed in the Iraq thinks about filmmaker Michael Moore, who used footage from the man's Arlington Cemetery funeral in his anti-Bush documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11."

O.K. WHY IS THIS NOT MAKING THE NAITONAL MEDIA OUTLETS? ALSO, WHY IS THE BUSH WHITE HOUSE NOT PUBLICIZING THE FACT THAT THE BRITISH REPORT ON 9/11 INTELLIGENCE PROVED THAT THE 16 WORDS IN THE STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS WERE VALID. WHY IS THE PREZ NOT ADDRESSING THE NATION ON THIS AND ASK FOR AN APOLOGY FROM JOE WILSON?

WHO IS RUNNING THE B/C '04 CAMPAIGN? GEEEEEEESH!!

Someone needs to write the script.

So we can all yell the same exact thing at the screen at the same exact time?
